Kanji grumbled, putting another shirt on the rack. Prices were good here, but nothin' fit him! It was bad enough being what had to be the Biggest Teenager In Japan, but it was something else to actually go clothes shopping when most of what you wore was something you made yourself.

Not that anything store-bought was bad! Only some was. You had a shitty stitch job here or a crap dye job there, but usually his problem was the fit. He had a narrower waist, longer legs, and a broader chest than most men his age.

Something caught the corner of his eye, and for a moment he thought nothing of it. Nudging hangers apart with his fingers, he sighed through his nose and called the shopping trip a bust. Maybe he should make more summer shirts for himself, his original plan. Still, sometimes a tailor needs a break.

...That feeling again! Kanji whipped his head left, gray eyes sharp as he scrutinized the shop. After being ogled like a freak for most of his life, he'd started to tune in to people looking at him, and it was habit that drove him to look them right back. Usually made 'em stop staring.

When he missed by maybe a half-second, he noticed someone moving rather awkwardly through the shop. They looked lost.

"Yo. You're in the kids' section," he noted aloud, eyebrows furrowing only a slight. This girl couldn't have had a kid, anyway. Too young for it.
