Welcome to the Rekindle Test Drive! Trying to see if a character will fit or work in the setting? Need some interaction samples? Well this meme is for you! Make a post, tag around, and most importantly, have fun! Here's the setting page for those who want to learn a little more about the city itself. Then don't forget to go reserve your character in a week when they open. Here's some prompts to help you get started, if you need it: Option 1 [With summer coming, the water level in the river is starting to go down, exposing some of the riverbank. The Riverside Shack is open late, and its restaurant is pulling out all the stops and offering seafood specials (even though a river is a far cry from an ocean). The rental store, meanwhile, is finally bringing out more of its swimming supplies, inner tubes and pool noodles, and a calmer stretch of the river has been roped off with buoys for swimming. They even have lifeguards chairs set up. Clearly this sort of thing used to be an annual event. It's not quite an ocean beach (quite different actually), but there's still plenty of chance to have fun in the water. Or teach someone to swim, perhaps.] Option 2 [With a new district available to the public, there are new places to visit. However there are also questions with each new arrival. One may find themselves headed for Saeng Seong's town hall and government buildings in search of answers. Whether it be more reasons for why they're here, or simply looking for an attorney to sue the unnamed scientists that brought you here. (However, they may be slightly prejudiced to this one. You've been warned.)] Option 3 [There are certainly a lot of different options for shopping in the city. Perhaps one of the more interesting and eclectic of these options, however, is the outdoor Marketplace in District 3. All sorts of fresh food stalls line the large open area, with different aisles that can be walked down. There's food of all kinds here - fruits, diary, vegetables, and so on and so forth. Some of it will likely be familiar, but other kinds may be so foreign as to be unrecognizable - a orange, seemingly hollow kind of fruit with holes like swiss cheese, for example, or salad greens with leaves the size of heads of pins. You are on a different world, after all. So wander the marketplace! Discover something new! And perhaps meet other curious people such as yourself...] Option 4 [Whoops. Looks like you haven't taken the cautionary words of the other NPCs to heart, or maybe you just wanted to take your chances. Either way, the withdrawal symptoms have started and you need to find someone to hug quickly before you get even more sick.] Option 5 [If there's something else you wanted to play with, that you didn't see here, then have fun with that. You've just arrived in a strange city, after all. There's got to be plenty to explore out and about, not to mention people to meet.]

[If you look up at the right moment, there's a zipline being fired from a nearby roof. A warm breeze stirs a black and yellow cape, and that's right when Robin jumps, letting gravity swing him from one roof to another.

Except then there's the vertigo, and while his head spins, his grip slackens. Freefall is nothing new to him, and he does manage to slow himself down with a couple somersaults and creative use of the cape, but he hits the ground hard, shoulder first, and moans a little.]

Ugh. I need to... need to retrieve my grapple...

[A tall figure in red stands on the beach, watching the people there. She seems to be lost in thought for the moment, speaking to herself.]

They all seem so carefree... Are there truly no others who need to return to their world immediately?

[She gives a quiet sigh, turning away from the water and shaking her head. As much as she'd like the vacation, people were in danger. Perhaps gathering information would be helpful.

She notices you, or perhaps you notice her and approach. Either way, she addresses you politely, but with urgency.]

Excuse me... Do you think you could tell me something about your world? I am trying to discern the kind of situations from which people were brought here.

[The point of a red hat might be visible above the crowd about the Marketplace, Freya looking from strange new vegetables to unfamiliar fruit products. She's absorbed in her inspection, perhaps taking up a bit more space than she should be; that tail or the spear on her back might take you by surprise with a sudden whack when she leans forward.

She notices almost immediately, an apologetic look barely visible under her hat.] Oh, please excuse me. Are you alright?

[he's been here for less than a week, and England is already starting to feel the impact of what the lack of a hug can do. he's certainly not as strong as he usually is. even walking long-distance is more of a chore, which is absolutely crazy to him. he may be old, but his body is in peak physical condition! he's not an athlete by any means, but he's not a weakling.

so England feels a sense of urgency to find some answers on getting home. he's on his way to the government building, but has to pause briefly to catch his breath, rub his head a little. dammit, he's getting dizzy now. maybe he can find someone to shake hands with]

<sub>[America had the same idea to go to the government building again to follow up on his last set of questions about the city. At this rate he was going to make friends with all the receptionists.

Then he recognizes a familiar face.]</sub>

HEY! ENGLAND!

_{[He shouts to him even though he was already nearly right beside him.]}

Are you heading to the government building too?

_{[Wait. Did England just start to wobble?]}

Um. Dude, are you okay?

[oh no. America is pretty much the last person he wants to see. he rights himself, trying to stand up straight]

I'm fine! What are you doing here?

[ He was never the sort who wanted to sit still. If ever one craved for knowledge, it was this guy. Naturally, being brought to some strange town without any answers left him on edge. He spends one day to get himself settled in but his second day sees him out and about:

The early morning finds him wandering about city hall. There are no familiar faces. No sign of his eldest brother or any of his siblings. No sign of anyone from True Cross whatsoever. He goes through the crowds, trying to act as inconspicuous as possible but how can you when you've got your hand gripped tight around the scabbard of an ornate German sword?

He's serious when he approaches, perhaps the slightest bit irritated even that his search seems to be in vain. But well, when push comes to shove, time to ask personal questions.

There's a hand lightly placed on your shoulder as he tries to get your attention. ]

Excuse me. Do you mind telling me who's in charge?

I just said I was going to the government building.

_{[He could swear England's memory was horrible whenever he first greeted him for some strange reason.]}

Are you really okay? You look... tired.

_{[It's not hard to notice the slight paleness and tired look in England's eyes.]}

[obviously he was distracted, he was barely paying attention to what America was saying. more concerned about getting him to GO AWAY. England cleared his throat and turned to continue walking away from the other country]

Is there a crime against being tired here? [huff. looks like there was a set of stairs to go up. ugh. he could make it, but it would take him a little longer. that would be fine were America not here] I haven't been sleeping well! It's no big deal!

_{[America followed after him without a sweat.]}

I don't know Man. Are you sure that's it? You kind of look sick -like how I've seen others get when they don't get any physical contact. Have you not been getting any lately or something?

_{[It was England after all. America could swear most of his physical contact was probably from those imaginary unicorns nuzzling him. Which amounted to nothing of course. Come on, imaginary friends don't count!]}

America continues to walk beside him but now he starts to poke him in the shoulder.]</sub>

[though it did help. even with that short contact, he felt a little energy return. not nearly enough, though. but the point was that he could feel the energy. and he wished that he didn't, because he hated giving in to the rules here]

[Despite the fact that the shopping bag she has an arm looped through is already halfway full only partway down the first row, Cupid nonetheless stops to investigate a stall selling pale blue clusters of what look like a miniature cross between cauliflowers and cherry tomatoes.]

Never seen these before...

[She picks up a cluster by the end of the stem they're all clustered on and gives them a cautious sniff.]

...sort of sweet, a little sharp-- hmm. I wonder if these are fruits or veggies?

_{[Honestly it could be difficult at times to tell apart England being grumpy and telling the truth versus England being too proud for his own good.]}

Well if it's not that, then... Why DO you look sick?

_{[Really now England, every country knows they can't catch regular colds.]}

I-I already told you! I haven't gotten a lot of sleep. This place... It's hard to be comfortable here. [he can't even feel his people. that concerns him]

[There is a winged girl sitting between buildings one and two, perched (very literally, as her feet are quite birdlike) on a low wall, filing her nails while whistling a jaunty little tune. Beside her there is a sign- neat and with bright, bold letters proclaiming:

surcharges may apply

Hey, no one had told Citra she couldn't get something out of this whole deal- so why shouldn't she take advantage? Besides, she has to stock up on what passes for money here just in case- after all, you never know when an emergency fund will come in handy.]

<sub>[There's a simple solution for that!

America quickly grabs him by both shoulders and steers him around in the opposite direction to point him towards the street back to the apartments.]</sub>

Well if you're tired, just let me handle the government stuff!

_{[His usual big smile returns.]}

H-hey! I have questions to ask those bastards! [he moves with America, but once they get to the bottom of the stairs, he tries to plant his feet on the ground]

[Oh-so-helpful, Citra bends to peer down at him, blinking slowly and cocking her head idly to one side, her wings giving a little flutter.]

It would probably help if you had wings, you know.

[Another moment of careful scrutiny, and she finally adds-]

Though you know, I think your grapple is probably the last thing you should be worried about.

All questions you- _{[He pushes against England to try forcing him to continue moving.]} -Can tell me so I can relay them to the people in charge here!

_{[He grunts a little. "Come on England move! Don't make me push you any harder!"}]

[steadfast! though being pushed into America is just giving him more strength. England's feeling less tired the longer they stay together]

I want to ask my own questions! [and raise hell. because yes send me back home please]

[Looking up at the winged girl was a similar odd looking human with stitches running across most of her body and odd dials attached to both sides of her head.

After looking at the girl, back to her sign, and back to the girl once more, Gavril grumbles loudly to herself.]

Do you really expect people to pay you for something they can get for free?

[Food was good, but despite the oddball variety afforded by the city's market place, Gavrill was still unable to find the treat she desired most. True, it was a taboo to eat such things in well... likely 99% of cultures regardless of where you came from, but it didn't hurt to ask.

After awhile of wandering around and getting very strange looks from various vendors and shopkeeps, Gavrill settled at a table near the market place with several rather large cuts of raw stake wrapped in paper laying beside her. That way she could at least replicate the taste of the mysterious item that had caused so much commotion earlier.]

Figures a backwoods hellhole like this wouldn't have it.

[Gavrill is a tall woman covered in stitches and wearing only a leather jacket as a top, causing quite the stir of gawking and gossiping as she simply wanders around the city.

Those who annoy her from a distance are safe, at least for now, but bothering her to her face may cause an incident.]
