Welcome to the Rekindle Test Drive!Trying to see if a character will fit or work in the setting? Need some interaction samples? Well this meme is for you! Make a post, tag around, and most importantly, have fun! Here's the setting page for those who want to learn a little more about the city itself. Then don't forget to go reserve your character in a week when they open. Here's some prompts to help you get started, if you need it: | | Option 1 | [While the days grow longer and warmer and the older, oriental-style of the city would normally make one think that the interiors would not be much in the way of relief from the hot sun, it may surprise the guest to see that the apartments the natives have allocated for them are surprisingly comfortable. In fact, the only modern convenience they may be missing is a television set! At least, outside the media floor on the first floor of Building One - the first of four inter-connected buildings.
In fact, each apartment building seems to have at least one different amenity on the first floor. In Building Two they seemed to even spare a library in another that seems to have the basics and some information packets that are otherwise found in the Welcome Center in District 2. There are even a few restaurants and common dining areas in the Building Three that are open until late at night, and meeting areas and a ballroom on the first floor in Building Four, perfect for setting up small parties or big events.
With the locals gone save those who work in the restaurants and the one librarian, leaving you to your own devices, what will you do? What mysteries could be left to discover in this place?] | | Option 2 | [With summer coming, the water level in the river is starting to go down, exposing some of the beach. The Riverside Shack is open late, and its restaurant is pulling out all the stops and offering seafood specials (even though a river is a far cry from an ocean). The rental store, meanwhile, is finally bringing out more of its swimming supplies, inner tubes and pool noodles, and a calmer stretch of the river has been roped off with buoys for swimming. They even have lifeguards chairs set up. Clearly this sort of thing used to be an annual event.
It's not quite an ocean beach (quite different actually), but there's still plenty of chance to have fun in the water. Or teach someone to swim, perhaps.] | | Option 3 | [If you're more inclined to explore or learn, the City's Learning Center might be more to your tastes. There certainly seems to be a lot going on here - there's laboratories and libraries and workshops, and plenty of communal areas where you can meet and talk with people. The natives seem pretty absorbed with their studies and work, though they're polite in brushing you off, at least.
Perhaps you'll have more luck seeing what other Guests such as yourself have discovered?] | | Option 4 | [Whoops. Looks like you haven't taken the cautionary words of the other NPCs to heart, or maybe you just wanted to take your chances. Either way, the withdrawal symptoms have started and you need to find someone to hug quickly before you get even more sick.] | | Option 5 | [If there's something else you wanted to play with, that you didn't see here, then have fun with that. You've just arrived in a strange city, after all. There's got to be plenty to explore out and about, not to mention people to meet.] |

Roxas | Kingdom Hearts OU | Option 3
[They said, "You have to be in contact with someone else. You'll know when it's been too long. Everyone will."
A lot of them smiled. That was enough to keep Roxas from listening to them. Talk about creepy.
His arrival in the city had been jarring enough: woken as if from sleep, finding himself outside of the confines of Sora's mind and inside some narrow alleyway in the middle of the city. Roxas had no choice but to go forward, to ask about the townspeople about where he was, do you know anyone by the name of Sora, Naminé, Mickey, Axel, anyone. A good majority of them were very kind, but said there was nothing they could do for him. (Not to mention they also found his coat a little strange.)
He'd found a place to stay, some food had been offered, but today, there had been nothing to quell the steadily rising queasiness. He pinched the bridge of his nose or rubbed his temples as passersby either avoided him or offered a hug or a hand. "No, thank you, I'm fine," followed every offer. He's just feeling unwell. He's not supposed to be here. How would a hug or any of that even help him?
Hand pressed against a wall nearby a convenience store, Roxas holds his head and catches breath he didn't know he'd lost walking up the few porch steps.
He's definitely not going to make it for much longer. :(]
omg hi hope you don't mind the AU /)~(\
Roxas?! [Oh Light he doesn't look too good at all. As soon as she gets close enough, she leans forward, trying to peer at his face.] What happened?
omg ;w; of course not!! hiiii
When he turns his head to meet the voice beside him, his eyes blink wide open. It isn't Naminé at all. Is it?
But Roxas is getting sicker by the moment. He squints, pressing his hand back to his forehead as he tries to steady himself. Something in his chest--he can't say what, but it's started to ache too.]
Kairi...? [She has dark hair, doesn't she? It has to be her.]
no subject
N-no. [she laughs a little painfully] Easy mistake, though.
[He looks good at all. She remembers that she herself hadn't really been in her right mind that one time she'd been really sick. Maybe it was like that now?]
no subject
There's a dark, harsh stab in the middle of his chest, as if his ribcage were trying to collapse in on itself. His throat tight with words, he searches her face in confusion, lips parted. Something pricked his eyes, but no tears would come.
As he reaches to take and grip her wrist, the words finally escape him:]
Who are you?
no subject
What she is only starting to grow accustomed to, however, are young boys with blond hair looking as though the life had been sucked from them (granted, that may be due to Drain back home)...]
Are you alright?
no subject
No one he knows just yet. His eyes lower again, his hand raising to touch his pounding temple.]
I'm- I'm just not feeling well.
no subject
"Just" not well?
[She may be linefacing, but the disbelief and likely slightly tempered tone is telling. She sighs, holding a hand out to check his temperature if he doesn't mind. Who knows, it may even help.]
no subject
He blinks beneath her hand, steadying himself against the wall. The nausea and dizziness and ebb away, and Roxas is unsure of whether to be shocked or grateful.
Instead, he opts to close his eyes, shoulders slackening. This feels much better.]
no subject
You may need to sit down.
[ She even offers that same hand to help steady him as he does so.
Congratulations, Roxas. You're getting mothered by a total stranger.]no subject
Cool but what does 'mothering' mean, we're talking about KH here, what are parentsEven with little recovery from her touch, Roxas still feels uneasy. He blinks hard as she offers her hand. He's not a baby, and he certainly doesn't need his hand held. Maybe it was just a fluke.]
I can make it. [Right? He releases his hand from the wall, waving a bit before standing up straight. They just need to find a chair...]
no subject
you will soon find out mister she is future parent after allThere's a bit of amusement in her gaze. Clearly, this was someone who was strong-willed. Likely a skilled warrior type, if rough around the edges (sigh; why does she always come across the stubborn ones?).]
There are a few restaurants just down the road.
[The way she came; though really, she is beginning to wonder if he listened to their advice.]
no subject
He clears his throat, giving a slow nod as he runs a hand through his hair.]
Right. [You should probably walk him. For now, he'll make it to the sidewalk, though not without a bit of a wobble.]

[In a flash, there's a redhead there unbidden. Not touching, she doesn't have permission (but that only barely stops her; her hand starts to reach out before she catches herself), but she looks pretty worried, scanning for possible sources for illness.]
no subject
He lifts his gaze, eyes squinted as he continues to catch his breath.]
I'm-... sorta not feeling okay. [He swallows, pressing a hand to his head.] Sorry, is there a chair around?
no subject
[She steps right next to Roxas and raises an arm to the boy, clearly concerned and not taking any chances.]
Take my arm, I'll get you over there before something happens.
no subject
But with his hand covering half his face and over his eye, he not-so-gracefully misses and nearly takes a tumble.]
no subject
[Sora sees the boy start to fall and, before she really registers it, gets under Roxas and starts to support him. Unfortunately, her body isn't moving as she likes for unrelated reasons, and she loses her balance too, causing the blonde to fall right on top of her as they both hit the ground.]
That... didn't go as planned.
no subject
Ow... [Roxas pushes himself onto his hands, hissing through his teeth. His head is spinning, but there's something warm underneath him, something breathing. When his eyes come into focus--oh, it's that girl.]
Uh...! [He's reacting a little slowly, feeling sick and all.]
no subject
It's fine, I just lost my balance a little. Are you okay? Well, aside from being a little wobbly?
no subject
Yeah, m'fine. [Roxas answers quickly; sick or no, he can't stay on her like this. Drawing in a deep breath, he pushes himself back on the heels of his palms, folding himself back to sit on his knees, albeit slowly. Unfortunately for him, as soon as he loses contact with the girl, he's knocked with another small bit of sickness.]
Sorry about that. [He holds his forehead, though his eyes are still set on the girl.]

Roxas!
[He gets closer and...oh no, he's not looking too good. Little bro :c]
Are you okay?
SORA! ;o; of course not!! ♥
He forces himself to lift his head at the call of his name. He knows that voice, but it can't be. Not him. Dizziness strikes him again and he squeezes his eyes shut, breathing deep as he attempts to quell his uneasiness, but he can still turn and look. He has to. It's the only way to know he's dreaming.
Finally, he looks towards Sora, eyes blinking open, wide and in shock. Still catching his breath, he leans his shoulder against the wall, trying to face him.]
Sora? How are you-? [He looks down at himself--solid, as far as he can tell. He looks back at Sora, as if expecting him to suddenly disappear, yet there he is.]
jfaiowefj and then I'm the latest ever I'm so sorry ;;
It was probably because of this world, and that whole thing about physical contact. Yes, he wanted to talk to Roxas and find out what he was talking about, and he knew that most of the time Roxas probably would not be all that okay with getting a hug (at least a hug from him) out of nowhere, but gosh darnit you're his little brother and if he can make you not sick than he will. You can be mad at him later.
So you're getting a hug, Roxas - if there was still any question about whether or not this Sora was a hallucination, now you can at least be sure that he isn't.]
don't you even worry about it! <3
Before Roxas can even get a word out, the nausea is fading. He breathes in deeply, blinking hard. His head is starting to stop hurting.
It really was in the hugs. He's still barely registering any of this happening.] Sora...?
