Make a post, tag around, and most importantly, have fun! Here's the setting page for those who want to learn a little more about the city itself. Then don't forget to go reserve your character in a week when they open. Here's some prompts to help you get started, if you need it: Option 1 [While the days grow longer and warmer and the older, oriental-style of the city would normally make one think that the interiors would not be much in the way of relief from the hot sun, it may surprise the guest to see that the apartments the natives have allocated for them are surprisingly comfortable. In fact, the only modern convenience they may be missing is a television set! At least, outside the media floor on the first floor of Building One - the first of four inter-connected buildings. In fact, each apartment building seems to have at least one different amenity on the first floor. In Building Two they seemed to even spare a library in another that seems to have the basics and some information packets that are otherwise found in the Welcome Center in District 2. There are even a few restaurants and common dining areas in the Building Three that are open until late at night, and meeting areas and a ballroom on the first floor in Building Four, perfect for setting up small parties or big events. With the locals gone save those who work in the restaurants and the one librarian, leaving you to your own devices, what will you do? What mysteries could be left to discover in this place?] Option 2 [With summer coming, the water level in the river is starting to go down, exposing some of the beach. The Riverside Shack is open late, and its restaurant is pulling out all the stops and offering seafood specials (even though a river is a far cry from an ocean). The rental store, meanwhile, is finally bringing out more of its swimming supplies, inner tubes and pool noodles, and a calmer stretch of the river has been roped off with buoys for swimming. They even have lifeguards chairs set up. Clearly this sort of thing used to be an annual event. It's not quite an ocean beach (quite different actually), but there's still plenty of chance to have fun in the water. Or teach someone to swim, perhaps.] Option 3 [If you're more inclined to explore or learn, the City's Learning Center might be more to your tastes. There certainly seems to be a lot going on here - there's laboratories and libraries and workshops, and plenty of communal areas where you can meet and talk with people. The natives seem pretty absorbed with their studies and work, though they're polite in brushing you off, at least. Perhaps you'll have more luck seeing what other Guests such as yourself have discovered?] Option 4 [Whoops. Looks like you haven't taken the cautionary words of the other NPCs to heart, or maybe you just wanted to take your chances. Either way, the withdrawal symptoms have started and you need to find someone to hug quickly before you get even more sick.] Option 5 [If there's something else you wanted to play with, that you didn't see here, then have fun with that. You've just arrived in a strange city, after all. There's got to be plenty to explore out and about, not to mention people to meet.]

Why not? [Isn't a music box something you buy (or steal)? This human idea of being "good enough" makes even less sense than usual.]

[He's trying so hard to block his Grace, to keep it from picking up her thoughts, her feelings. It didn't help that he was so attuned to her that he could pick her out in a crowd of people. Even if that crowd had all their thoughts turned on him, he'd still be able to find Katsa.]

I know feelings, intentions. Not completely unlike foresight, I suppose. And I sometimes know what people are thinking. I only thoughts about me. Nothing more.

[Po wants to take a step forward, to try to embrace her but he stops himself. It's better this way and less provocative. He'd been thinking about what to do if Katsa ever returned. He could let her go, like she wanted he was sure, and he could be alone without anyone to bother him.

And for some reason, that hurt more than he thought it could.]

[He swings the branch just like Diarmui had showed him. Then, he swings it again in the other direction. He starts swinging it again and again, in wider arcs, until he finally makes a misstep and falls again.]

So there were... a lot of reasons why it happened, but it's mostly because everyone had problems with what the other groups were doing.

[ he smiled a little nervously ] Ah, that's because I'm just a third rate music box maker. There is still a lot I need to learn before I can attempt to make that kind of box.

[ but then he shook his head and scooted towards the edge of his branch bracing himself for the inevitably fall down as he made his exit. Still, he paused just before falling, giving a Pai a bright, hopeful look. ]

Would you like to join me for some tea? It'll be my treat since I interrupted your nap, and it's such a lovely day!

Fever wasn't anything he expected, being dead. And more he feels, like he's an insect, to be toyed w- Draven sits up, fast and regrets, catches himself from falling back. Still, he looks at who found him, and his eyes go to the wings and his hand to his dagger...nearly. Draven slows, stops. Would've missed anyway. Parkour...what hasn't gone wrong?

"This isn't the first torment I imagined, but now..." he dips his head, and for all his weakness, Draven's voice steadies. "Can't think of anything more tailored."

Only where it concerns you, dear Vincent. [ he shakes his head, marveling ] I truly can't go over how much you've grown.

[ but Jack glides into the shop (with a careful eye not to tense up his back) and politely asked for a table for two from the maid behind the counter. A little light flattery always improved the service. ]

[ he laughed lightly ]

Ah... all you had to do was ask! [ he frowned ] Do you really dislike me so?

[ It's not like he did all that much, just snuck into the manor and kept the good Glen company on those warm summer days.It was hardly a crime, was it? ]

...Basically. We had the convenient advantage of all the other groups being some combination of evil and enemies of humanity.

And now I've got permanent injuries, documented mental instabilities, and a few dead friends, all because people just couldn't get along.

[OKAY. They really, really don't match at all. He's uh, quiet for a moment, mouth opening and closing as he scours for words.]

I did. Very, very close friends. They... are probably the only reason I'm not insane right now. So that's a thing to consider.

[ Jack laughed silently and settled into his chair, taking his time looking around the place and admiring the decor. ]

Don't be silly, Vincent. What use is time in a place like here when we can be pulled from any time or any when? It's best to just enjoy what time we have, wouldn't you agree?

[ He flicks a piece of dust away from his menu before gently lifting the cover, his eyes roaming over the menu just as easily as he had roamed the shop. Gently, lightly, with hardly a care or thought in the world. ]

[His expression is strange. Nobody has ever given her such a hopeful look before. Her first inclination is not to trust it. Now that she's paid her renumeration, she should go home.

On the other hand, she is feeling a little woozy, and it's hard to tell whether it's because she's hungry or because she requires touch. Either way, the problem should be solved by going with him.]

All right.

[She smiles and holds a hand to him. Care to help a lady down?]

[ he presses a kiss to the back of her hand, a twinkle in his eye before he releases it. ]

I'm glad. I hate eating alone.

[ lie, he didn't care one way or another for company. It was simply, quite often, a necessity. But then he's easing himself down the tree, bending his knees to take the burden of his weight as he falls the last few feet. and then he's spinning and holding up his arms, carefree and light and full of (apparent) life. ]

Here, jump! I'll catch you, I promise.

[ and his smile is so full of trust, how could she doubt him? And it won't do him a single bit of good to miss. ]

Kevin glanced down at the hand and smirked, raising an arm-slash-battle axe. He closed his eyes and concentrated, getting the blade to sink back into his flesh, leaving a stump -- but after a moment, he was able to will his fingers to reform. He focused all his concentration on keeping it that way, shaking as he firmly grasped the stranger's hand to try and alleviate some of the symptoms.
