Welcome to the Rekindle Test Drive! Trying to see if a character will fit or work in the setting? Need some interaction samples? Well this meme is for you! Make a post, tag around, and most importantly, have fun! Here's the setting page for those who want to learn a little more about the city itself. Then don't forget to go reserve your character in a week when they open. Here's some prompts to help you get started, if you need it: Option 1 [While the days grow longer and warmer and the older, oriental-style of the city would normally make one think that the interiors would not be much in the way of relief from the hot sun, it may surprise the guest to see that the apartments the natives have allocated for them are surprisingly comfortable. In fact, the only modern convenience they may be missing is a television set! At least, outside the media floor on the first floor of Building One - the first of four inter-connected buildings. In fact, each apartment building seems to have at least one different amenity on the first floor. In Building Two they seemed to even spare a library in another that seems to have the basics and some information packets that are otherwise found in the Welcome Center in District 2. There are even a few restaurants and common dining areas in the Building Three that are open until late at night, and meeting areas and a ballroom on the first floor in Building Four, perfect for setting up small parties or big events. With the locals gone save those who work in the restaurants and the one librarian, leaving you to your own devices, what will you do? What mysteries could be left to discover in this place?] Option 2 [With summer coming, the water level in the river is starting to go down, exposing some of the beach. The Riverside Shack is open late, and its restaurant is pulling out all the stops and offering seafood specials (even though a river is a far cry from an ocean). The rental store, meanwhile, is finally bringing out more of its swimming supplies, inner tubes and pool noodles, and a calmer stretch of the river has been roped off with buoys for swimming. They even have lifeguards chairs set up. Clearly this sort of thing used to be an annual event. It's not quite an ocean beach (quite different actually), but there's still plenty of chance to have fun in the water. Or teach someone to swim, perhaps.] Option 3 [If you're more inclined to explore or learn, the City's Learning Center might be more to your tastes. There certainly seems to be a lot going on here - there's laboratories and libraries and workshops, and plenty of communal areas where you can meet and talk with people. The natives seem pretty absorbed with their studies and work, though they're polite in brushing you off, at least. Perhaps you'll have more luck seeing what other Guests such as yourself have discovered?] Option 4 [Whoops. Looks like you haven't taken the cautionary words of the other NPCs to heart, or maybe you just wanted to take your chances. Either way, the withdrawal symptoms have started and you need to find someone to hug quickly before you get even more sick.] Option 5 [If there's something else you wanted to play with, that you didn't see here, then have fun with that. You've just arrived in a strange city, after all. There's got to be plenty to explore out and about, not to mention people to meet.]

[She turns around to face Asuka fully, her expression making it obvious that she doesn't know what to do. Both her hands clench into little fists. Finally—]

[She holds up one finger.]

...First one, right? Well, lucky you.

[She nods.]

[But, then, she studies Asuka more closely. She hasn't seen anyone with an eyepatch before. That interests her, so she moves closer, heedless of personal space as she leans up on her toes to try to get a closer look.]

[Asuka tilts her head, but it's not like she can derive her intentions from body language alone]


...What is it?

[Assassin promptly attempts to grab the eyepatch off her face.]

[Asuka pulls back immediately; she might not have all that much in height but she at least has military reflexes and training. Not exactly about to hurt the girl of course]

WOAH- Hey!

[smallskull]

[She's surprisingly quick for a child, but when Asuka recoils, she freezes. She doesn't back up or anything else—she just stands there, arm still outstretched, her expression faintly puzzled but otherwise blank.]

[when the girl freezes, Asuka relaxes a little, though still a bit wound up and ready to move; got taken by surprise after all]

...Trust me kid, you don't want to see what's under this.

Wow, you reeeeally like it.

[He's watching her, to see if she'll say anything.]

[...Nope, that just makes her more curious. She doesn't attempt to grab a second time, but she moves closer again, leaning up on her toes as though she'd be able to see through it if she looks closely enough. If Asuka isn't careful, she might start clambering on her.]

[She stops to consider that question, though she doesn't look up at him even as her head tilts slightly. Then, she nods once.]

[Nope.]

[Asuka's mostly in the business of having limbs not in her face, but if you look closely it may appear there's some kind of blue light coming from behind it.

She's trying to gentle, but she still has to be firm:]

[Well... She does ease up when she's told to stop like that, but she can't help but look disappointed and maybe even a little bit chastised. Her face falls even as she wonders about that light.]

[He states the obvious. Someone has to talk, since the silence is so grating.]

[...and now she feels bad BUT SHE STILL CAN'T SHOW YOU IT OKAY]

[You never knew. At least they'd be prepared?]

Sounds like a lot of work there.

[She nods again, looking up this time. His observatory prowess is rewarded with the most unimpressed look imaginable.]

Can't you even just tell me your name?

[WISE? Korra snorts, thinking about what her friends would say about that.]

The Avatar. A lot of people in my world can bend one element, but I'm the only one who can bend all four.

[That declaration will definitely get an applause out of Soushi because it still sounded amazing to him!]

To be given such an honor to meet someone with such high level of skill, it truly is a pleasure!

[There will be bowing now.]

It's quite similar in my own world as well. Most of my colleagues are only able to use a single element of magic as well. To meet someone to possess such capabilities, especially one as young, it's unheard of. I do not believe there is anyone like it in my world. [A friendly smile.] Would it be appropriate to call you "one of a kind"? [All said in sparkles, dark ones to be more precise.]

[Diarmuid seems to miss her surprised reaction or more likely he just mistakes it for excitement about going to learn because he is also excited about doing that.]

I haven't looked at much yet. Did you see something you wanted to learn about first? I don't really care what we learn about because I bet everything here will be interesting! It's all so different from home!

[Oooooh ego stroking she likes you.]

Yeah, I think that's pretty safe to say. [There's just the slightest twinge at his words. Bolin had been the last person to call her one of a kind.]

[He will bow his head.]

[Another bow of his head as a way to hide the sudden feeling of sadness and loneliness over the thought of Ririchiyo not having been seen or heard from. Once he raises his head, a smile will return to his lips, albeit a more formal one. It was still too early to make any certainties if his master was or wasn't in this world just yet.]

As expressed beforehand, thank you very much for helping me. I have been desperately trying to reach a high place, but have been unsuccessful in doing so. [That is when he will feel another surge of power go through his body as he falls onto the ground. He could feel himself change yet again. Without warning, his nine tails, ears, and formal japanese clothing will change into a dark suit and tie combo. His hair will change from its splendid pure white color to a more blond color. However, his heterochromia eyes of blue and gold will remain. A more formal smile will appear as he rises to his feet again.] It would seem as my powers are currently unstable at the moment.

[Then he begins to wonder, slight concern appearing on his facial features.]
