Make a post, tag around, and most importantly, have fun! Here's the setting page for those who want to learn a little more about the city itself. Then don't forget to go reserve your character in a week when they open. Here's some prompts to help you get started, if you need it: Option 1 [While the days grow longer and warmer and the older, oriental-style of the city would normally make one think that the interiors would not be much in the way of relief from the hot sun, it may surprise the guest to see that the apartments the natives have allocated for them are surprisingly comfortable. In fact, the only modern convenience they may be missing is a television set! At least, outside the media floor on the first floor of Building One - the first of four inter-connected buildings. In fact, each apartment building seems to have at least one different amenity on the first floor. In Building Two they seemed to even spare a library in another that seems to have the basics and some information packets that are otherwise found in the Welcome Center in District 2. There are even a few restaurants and common dining areas in the Building Three that are open until late at night, and meeting areas and a ballroom on the first floor in Building Four, perfect for setting up small parties or big events. With the locals gone save those who work in the restaurants and the one librarian, leaving you to your own devices, what will you do? What mysteries could be left to discover in this place?] Option 2 [With summer coming, the water level in the river is starting to go down, exposing some of the beach. The Riverside Shack is open late, and its restaurant is pulling out all the stops and offering seafood specials (even though a river is a far cry from an ocean). The rental store, meanwhile, is finally bringing out more of its swimming supplies, inner tubes and pool noodles, and a calmer stretch of the river has been roped off with buoys for swimming. They even have lifeguards chairs set up. Clearly this sort of thing used to be an annual event. It's not quite an ocean beach (quite different actually), but there's still plenty of chance to have fun in the water. Or teach someone to swim, perhaps.] Option 3 [If you're more inclined to explore or learn, the City's Learning Center might be more to your tastes. There certainly seems to be a lot going on here - there's laboratories and libraries and workshops, and plenty of communal areas where you can meet and talk with people. The natives seem pretty absorbed with their studies and work, though they're polite in brushing you off, at least. Perhaps you'll have more luck seeing what other Guests such as yourself have discovered?] Option 4 [Whoops. Looks like you haven't taken the cautionary words of the other NPCs to heart, or maybe you just wanted to take your chances. Either way, the withdrawal symptoms have started and you need to find someone to hug quickly before you get even more sick.] Option 5 [If there's something else you wanted to play with, that you didn't see here, then have fun with that. You've just arrived in a strange city, after all. There's got to be plenty to explore out and about, not to mention people to meet.]

[Her reaction caught him slightly off guard because he didn't expect her to react so oddly towards his own change. There will be slight confusion along with questioning the reason behind it. Maybe he over-estimated her. After all, did she not have other people with similar skills as he did? He shouldn't have assumed...]

Yes. As I explained beforehand, my powers are currently unstable for some unknown reason... [More like he knew the cause of it, but he did not wish to fully believe it. He has not officially held nor shown any sort of interaction with others for the time he has arrived.] Luckily, it is only affecting a few of my own skills like my transformation and teleportation skills. It isn't entirely serious... [Although, he has been wanting to avoid all this to begin with. He didn't wish for everyone to react the way the other girl did. There was no need to startle others due to it.]

What kind of skills do you have?

( She shakes it off and grants him an easy-going sheepish smile.

Compared to her more traditional Japanese meal of sushi, rice, cutlets of meat and a small plate of noodles. It seems a fairly large deal of food for a girl her size. But she doesn't seem to judge him at all for his own choice. )

( Being friendly comes naturally. She couldn't help but be curious about her company. )

It depends on which set of skills you're most interested to learn of.

[Normally he isn't the type to speak over his abilities, but these were special circumstances. After all, she did speak a little over her own skill, it was his turn to return the favor.]

I have done many different types of odd jobs that required a certain set of skills. Currently, I work as an SS Agent for my master. It is a duty I take great pride in as I get to serve and spend a great deal of time with her. I only serve her in the best way as I possibly can.

[He will close his eyes as he decides to create a list.]

My skills in swordsmanship and close combat make me a difficult opponent to defeat. I use the very knowledge to protect my master from all kinds of harm -- be it human or not. Along with such skills, I have the ability to create a wide range of illusions. Some of which are not properly working at the moment... [Otherwise he would have transformed into the girl in front of him or made copies of himself.] My abilities are mainly connected to that of the youkai I represent. As I have spoken to you beforehand, I have not met many that hold the same skills as you do. To be able to control more than one type of power is quite impressive.

[He could not help continue to offer a friendly smile at his current table companion. It was clear that her company did not make him feel as nervous as it normally would. She seemed like a kind and polite girl. He didn't sense any type of dark intentions nor the type to judge him.

At her bashful question, he will offer her a nod before slightly bowing his head.]

Certainly. My name is Soushi Miketsukami. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Miss...? [A pause as he gives her the cue to introduce herself.]

Miketsukami-san. ( Saya nods, saying it once, as if trying to commit it to memory. )

It's Kisaragi Saya. It's good to meet you.

( She peers at him curiously before choosing her next question. ) Have you been here long Miketsukami-san?

ARTEMIS FOWL II / Artemis Fowl books

[His bodyguard might call him predictable to head straight for the library first thing, but Artemis would mentally argue that it's the most logical place to check first. Libraries tell a lot about a city and its ways, from collection sizes to architecture to how volumes are ordered. It reminds Artemis of more modern libraries in updated parts of London, perhaps. It's not quite as homely, but it'll do.

There are a hundred things to check first, but Artemis presumes that he's got the time for all of it. The best thing to start on is maps, which he's heading towards first. He'd prefer to know his surroundings before exploring any further.

And traveling all on his own! Or so he suspects; if it's a kidnapping scheme for ransom, this is an odd place to hold him hostage. Then again, he's dealt with some very creative opponents before. Should you pass him, he might seem a bit on the stiff side.]

And take the map with him? Rude. Davesprite folds the map up for the moment, dropping his hands to one side and moving on towards the street.

"Yeah? How long has it been since you've had one?" It's more a point of interest; he can't really say he has the same sort of interest in alcohol. If they'd even serve him.

He glances both ways up the street, looking to see if he can spot any pubs or whatever the local equivalent is, then nods up the street. "That way."

Then he sways and stumbles, follows it and begins a wide turn that crosses into the street (unless Davesprite wants to yank him back). Can't stop the rhythm for long - he'll fall and become the most ironic Life Alert ad.

As it happens, some sixteen cyclists round the corner, and (if Draven's still in the street) neither party looks willing to reasonably avoid the other. The cyclists, because they have reflexes to test. Draven, because he doesn't register them.

Mm-hm. I've been practicing for a while, now.

[Nearly two years, though this place kind of skews with your perceptions of time, being outside it.]

[The splashing water had been indicative of someone coming closer, so she isn't too surprised when he speaks to her. She takes a moment to catch her breath before replying]

I'm practicing how to hold my breath.

[The question is a little strange as soon as she's said it - people have known who she was for most of her life, particularly after her father had completed the Final Summoning and especially after the events of nearly two years ago. But it was true. Almost no one knew who she was here. It had been different, but an almost peaceful kind of different, if she was really honest with herself.

Until now at least.]

I dunno... having the ability to transform and make illusions and go places seems pretty impressive to me. [Well, bending is still THE COOLEST THING EVER......but she can't help feeling it's a little....limited... compared to all the stuff he's talking about.]

Even so, there are still limits placed over my own abilities especially after arriving to this world. Like my earlier transformation, for example. I'm having great difficulty changing forms.... [He will look down at his own hands for a moment.] ...I was forced out of my youkai transformation just now; just like I was forced out of this form as well. This world must be behind it...somehow.

[He will return his full attention back to Korra. There is some concern on his facial features.]

How about you? Have you been having any type of difficulty controlling any of your own abilities?

Nope. [Her abilities are a-okay, thank goodness. After everything that happened with Amon, Korra is very careful to avoid anything that might get her powers taken away from her again.]

How long's it been since you touched someone? That might have something to do with it.

Yes. [A light nod of his head as she repeats his name.]

It's truly a pleasure to make your acquaintance as well, Kisaragi-san. I could not have asked for a better dinning companion. [Except for Ririchiyo, but that thought will not be voiced out loud.]

Yes. I've arrived a few hours ago. This is my first day. [His polite smile will slightly weakened at the thought that he has been away from his master for a couple of hours all ready. For a moment, he could not help wonder about her and her situation back home. Will she be all right without his protection? He highly doubts that one of his doubles was still currently watching over her like he had planned before being taken away.] Did you arrive recently to this world as well?

[Now you're really confusing her, Sora. She doesn't understand what to make of this at all.]

Spira is the world I come from.

Are you from Zanarkand?

[Tidus' Zanarkand, that is. It doesn't make much sense at all really, but it still makes slightly more sense than any of the other myriad options as to how he knows who she is on sight, yet isn't from Spira.]

[There's a moment, as he pulls her into a tight embrace, where air seems to desert her lungs. He's solid, he's real. This isn't a dream. He isn't a dream - not that she'd been able to tell the first time, not until the end.

And then she breathes in again.

He's really real. And then she's hugging him back, just as tightly.

It's good that he's keeping them afloat, because right now she can barely think about that.]

I did. [She laughs then, a helpless, slightly watery laugh] You came.

['You finally came.' He'd told her all she had to do was whistle and he'd come running. And now he had.]
