[Ion can't help but look startled at the mention of Sync, and Ember's relationship with him. Unsure, he looks away.]
In my world...
[In his world, Sync is dead. Ion had tried to talk him down as soon as he realized who Sync was...tried to get him to listen to reason, and wanted to understand him, but the replica had thrown himself into the Planetary Core.
It still hurt to think about it. In a way, it had felt like losing a brother he didn't realize existed, and had been so close for so long. Or maybe, he just felt guilty. Like it was his own fault that Sync had given up and killed himself. Like...he had driven Sync to do it. Or was simply a failure for being unable to convince him that he could have a life here, with them.]
...well, he didn't--doesn't--care for me very much. To say the least.
