Test Drive - March Edition
![]() SURPRISE! It's time for our new Rekindle Test Drive! Trying to see if a character will fit or work in the setting? Need some interaction samples? Well this meme is for you! Make a post, tag around, and most importantly, have fun! Here's the setting page for those who want to learn a little more about the city itself. |
Here's some prompts to help you get started, if you need it: |
Option 1 |
[ It's looking gray here, still in that colorless pre-spring phase. There is one bright spot of color, in the form of roses decorating a few tables inside buildings. They even appear to be free for the taking, if you need a little color! And mostly benign. Mostly.] |
Option 2 |
[ The entire city looks pretty new to you, but there seems to be a special amount of shine to one particular spot. Maybe it's just the lights on the ferris wheel, which looks like it could offer a great view of the new city. Only catch is that you're going to end up sharing the ride with another person.] |
Option 3 |
[Apparently this place has a zoo and an aquarium, and is currently holding a special deal and event. Bring a second person in with you, get a special pass to the exhibits! |
Option 4 |
[The slow warming and change in the season has another effect; visibility has a way of suddenly dropping when a cool mist rolls in off the banks of the river and down from the clouds. It's got a chill and dampness to it, and makes it hard to see. You might want to be careful not to bump into anyone while trying to get in out of the fog.] |
Option 5 |
[Whoops. Looks like you haven't taken the cautionary words of the other NPCs to heart, or maybe you just wanted to take your chances. Either way, the withdrawal symptoms have started and you need to find someone to hug quickly before you get even more sick.] |
Option 6 |
[If there's something else you wanted to play with, that you didn't see here, then have fun with that. You've just arrived in a strange city, after all. There's got to be plenty to explore out and about, not to mention people to meet.] |

Oh yeah. Honestly you could probably fit a whole group if everyone was small enough.
[ poor guy. so nervous. so Zack also looks out the window. impressive city, really. ]
Strange, huh? Not really. Buildings might be a different shape, but a city is a city, you know? They pretty much have the same things in them. People live and go about their lives all the same.

[But his tone is distant, especially so when Zack chose to remove that sword. The fact he could carrying it on his back was surprising. Let alone take something that looked that heavy off with one arm- staggering. And up close, he was all the more perplexing. A pointed tip, yes. Alike any other sword, but that was where the similarities ended. As the ferris wheel started up, the ground shook slightly and he stumbled - too trapped in examinations of the sword to really be prepared. But! He righted himself, turning his eyes toward the strangers' face.]
Forgive my rudeness, but I cannot help but stare at that sword. How... does it work?
[.....derp.]
I mean more the blade. Is it designed for stabbing... or chopping?

[ not to mention that there's essentially a world above and a world below. but Zack's not going to mention that. to be honest? he's not sure what to think of Shinra at the moment. his only goal had been to get to his girl... then figure out what to do from there.
but that's not likely to happen, now is it? ]
Eh?
[ wait what. his sword? he gives the other guy a blank, clueless look for a moment before looking at his blade then starts laughing. ]
Wouldn't really get a good stab in with that, would ya? It's meant for slashing. The monsters back home are pretty tough!

[Only a year? And bigger buildings than that existed? He's going to look surprised at that, his eyebrows furrowing slightly after a while. This ...place seemed to have things his world didn't, that was true. But surely... things like that would take decades. Possibly even longer. ...Right? Well, wrong, apparently. He looks out of the window again at the buildings as their altitude climbed. He'd never been this far off the ground in his life. It was... something, all right.
At the laugh, he turns around and glances at the sword, and then to the other man. Marth had almost started to chastise himself for bringing attention to the man's weapon, for it was almost rude. But he seemed.. okay about it. Very good natured about it, actually.]
Ah... No. Not without hurting yourself as well. [A small laugh, alongside.] It's very unusual. You must be extremely strong, even to lift it...
[He couldn't. And he knows that. But there's a small pause.]
Monsters...? Is that... a type of brigand?
no subject
It's not that big of a deal. [ pause. ah... maybe this guys doesn't know about all of the SOLDIER junk. ] Well, okay. So maybe it is a big deal. Not everyone can handle the treatments and stuff they give SOLDIERs. I did have a smaller one that I used, but this...
[ he takes a look at the blade and gives it a small, MAYBE sad smile. ] This was given to me by a friend.
[ but anyway! moving on from that, because this guy. THIS GUY. monsters... he doesn't know what MONSTERS are? ]
Uh... Monsters. You know... Bombs? Ahriman?
[ no? nothing? ] Spriggans?
no subject
It's special. I see. I am sorry to have intruded-
[Then the question! ...Bombs? Ahri- what?
...He's just going to look perplexed here. Very perplexed.]
I understand what explosives are, but I have never heard them referred to as "monsters." I'm afraid I don't understand any of what you're saying. They... what you're referring to sound horrible, though. If anything that dealing with them requires a weapon that...
[Brutal looking. Even the axes Fighters use aren't anything compared to it.
...But what even IS a spriggan. DD:]
