Test Drive - March Edition

SURPRISE! It's time for our new Rekindle Test Drive!
Trying to see if a character will fit or work in the setting? Need some interaction samples? Well this meme is for you!

Make a post, tag around, and most importantly, have fun! Here's the setting page for those who want to learn a little more about the city itself.

Here's some prompts to help you get started, if you need it:

Option 1

[ It's looking gray here, still in that colorless pre-spring phase. There is one bright spot of color, in the form of roses decorating a few tables inside buildings. They even appear to be free for the taking, if you need a little color! And mostly benign. Mostly.]

Option 2

[ The entire city looks pretty new to you, but there seems to be a special amount of shine to one particular spot. Maybe it's just the lights on the ferris wheel, which looks like it could offer a great view of the new city. Only catch is that you're going to end up sharing the ride with another person.]

Option 3

[Apparently this place has a zoo and an aquarium, and is currently holding a special deal and event. Bring a second person in with you, get a special pass to the exhibits! ~~Though why the bath house is ALSO holding a similar event is anyone's guess.~~]

Option 4

[The slow warming and change in the season has another effect; visibility has a way of suddenly dropping when a cool mist rolls in off the banks of the river and down from the clouds. It's got a chill and dampness to it, and makes it hard to see. You might want to be careful not to bump into anyone while trying to get in out of the fog.]

Option 5

[Whoops. Looks like you haven't taken the cautionary words of the other NPCs to heart, or maybe you just wanted to take your chances. Either way, the withdrawal symptoms have started and you need to find someone to hug quickly before you get even more sick.]

Option 6

[If there's something else you wanted to play with, that you didn't see here, then have fun with that. You've just arrived in a strange city, after all. There's got to be plenty to explore out and about, not to mention people to meet.]

[ Option One ]

[ Upon waking up at the side of the street, Christian couldn't help but be confused by what he had seen. The lack of color and dark contrast made him blink trying to regain his senses. Was he in the shopping district of Arcova? However the more he looked around, the more he noticed that the buildings were very simple. Christian squinted his teal eyes glancing toward the nearby window of a shop and spots color from within. The object that had caught his attention was a very bright and colorful rose that seemed to sparkle. It didn't make much sense to him but he entered the shop none the less. As soon as he entered it occurred to him that he was still dressed in his robes. Blacks along with a copper undertones, leather small to medium pouches around his waist, luckily his hood was down to show that he meant no harm to anyone. Christian grew self conscious about hidden blades being on him. He was only on patrol of the city but was always prepared for anything. Mostly scouting out for demonic deformed Beastman. ]

[ He walks over toward the small table with the rose sparkling away. Christian hadn't seen anything like it before and wondered if a certain alchemist could bloom something like this. The assassin is surprised when he is told by the store keeper that he could take one. He picked one out and walked back out of the shop. However, he realized that something seemed different and aura shone around him and rose petals fell around his frame. ]

You got to be kidding me... this is totally something that he would create as a joke.

[ Option Two ]

[ Christian found himself near the ferris wheel in this strange city. He still didn't believe where he was and it could all be just a dream. A dream that could be reality and it almost felt familiar in a way. The assassin knew that he could easily climb any tall building around and be able to get a great view. However, he hadn't seen something like a ferris wheel before. With the lights and swinging seats, the machinery seemed interesting. As he stepped up toward it, he was stopped by the operator who told him that he must ride with another person. Christian blinked, tilting his head at the operator before looking around him. ]

I don't suppose you could just let me on? It's not like it'll be dangerous.

[ The operator says no again before shouting out loud. Anyone want to sit with this gentleman?. ]

[Option 6 - New Arrival]

[This... was not the Waking Sands. Nor did it appear to be any place in Eorzea that she had ever been to - and by this point in her travels, she's been to all three major city-states and seen quite a bit of the lands around them.

At least this particular arrival and plea for help hadn't come with a cryptic dream involving crystal goddesses and men in black coats.

Maker be praised, there had even been a letter explaining what this city needed of her. Physical contact? She could do that quite easily.

'It almost seems... too easy.' If her experience as an adventurer had taught her anything, it was that things were never as simple as they were on the surface.

She gathers her sword, shield, and the folder containing the introductory materials, and heads out into the city proper. It was time to get her bearings, and get a feel for the size of this Saeng Seong.]

[Option 3]

[While the metal contraption had caught her attention, the zoo and aquarium held more interest to her - she was quite curious about the nature of the animals of this world.

She openly scowled at the sign detailing the promotion.] A pass, should I enter with another...?

[That... was problematic.]

[Option 5 for the heck of it]

[Cautionary words are one thing, and experience is another. As grateful as Minato is for their help in hospitalizing him when he first arrived, he's still far too suspicious of everything else in this new city and it doesn't help things either that he still feels like this is another ploy by his original captors- he was told after all that they would offer him what he wants at his most vulnerable and he can't think of anything he wants more than to see his friends.

Which brings him to the second problem. The copy of Aigis that he had seen months before had obviously been made based on a small facet of her personality while everyone here seemed too real and happy to actually be captives of the Yao Corporation. Well, aside from their insistence that he should let them just hug him already...heaving a sigh, he takes a seat by the riverbank to clear his thoughts.] ...I don't get what they want. [So Minato says to himself, while unaware that he's already beginning to experience the symptoms he'd been warned about.]

[Another exasperated sigh. Another indignant cry when she bumps into another bush in the fog, followed by sputtering and shaking her mane to get the leaves out. Why on earth were the pegasi not here to clear this out? Here she'd figured they wouldn't allow such a faux pas!]

[...Was that-- Oh, thank goodness. A silhouette! Another pony! Yes, someone who no doubt knew their way around here, or a pegasus she could ask with the most patience she could muster why this unsightly fog was still hanging about after so long, and if they would be a dear and remove the silly curtain so that they could all go about their business!]

[She took a moment to make sure her mane fell just right- no need to look a fright when you would address a comrade, no?- before moving at a light trot in the silhouette's direction.]

Excuse me...? I wonder if you would be so kind as to give me directions? I'm afraid I've been turned around somewhere...

Option 2

[It was a large contraption she was certain she had never laid eyes on before. It looked to her like some sort of machina- a machine that an Al Bhed might have thought up. The longer she took in the sight of it, watching couples filter on and off from the many compartments, it was clearly a contraption meant for recreation.]

[After much deliberation, she'd decided. Even if she had to sit beside someone she did not know, she was very interested in seeing what this town looked like from such a height. There was only to find someone to pair off with her. Lulu, not one to play passive, spied another that was on their own not far from herself.]

"Excuse me..."

Option 5

[It had only been a week, and Lulu had felt fine. That was, until she realized she could barely make so much as a spark with her magic.]

[Lulu had not been purposefully neglectful, mind. She had spent much of her first week in Saeng Seong exploring and chatting with locals to get a feel for her situation. She was a little embarrassed with herself, truth be told; the regularity most residents of Saeng Seong mentioned their impending crisis she really had no excuse. There had just been so much for her to take in, so much to adjust to. That, and she was more than just a little uncomfortable with the idea of getting overly warm with complete strangers.]

[So here she was, standing around District 5 and feeling like quite the fool. This was just the sort of behaviour she'd have scolded Wakka for.]

[Someone was walking past her now- she couldn't keep standing here all day. How to broach the manner carefully?]

"You."

Option 2

The Queen lifts her skirt as she steps into the Ferris Wheel car, folding it tightly around her knees and clasping her hands together.

"P-please," she says, trying to sound regal, but stuttering in nervousness, "tell me if you... experience any discomfort."

She wishes she wasn't so hasty in discarding her other glove. She starts rubbing her hands together, hoping the friction will melt any ice that forms.

[The city was disarming, to say the very least. Marth wandered it regardless, very much blinded, stunned, fascinated and every single rabbit in headlights cliche that ever was, and ever would be. He hadn't the head for this, and he knew it. One moment he was on the the battlefield, then he felt distinctly sleepy, and then suddenly... this.

He'd never even seen anything like this before. It was so loud at all times - so bright, and so strange in every possible way. That, and the populace really didn't take to dawdlers. He'd found himself walking at a slow pace, shoved this and that way by the shoulders of those which seemed to know where they were going, and wanted to get there without an odd, blue-haired teenager in the way. His apologies had meant nothing. They were curtly ignored - and he'd found himself apologizing to thin air more often than not.

Still, he pressed on, eyes focusing on the ferris wheel after another particularly hard nudge.]

...What on earth...?

[There were... people inside the carriages? Yes, he could see a small girl waving out of one at everyone below. Perhaps.. Perhaps he could find a way out of this place from a higher vantage point? Walking around was doing absolutely nothing.]

[Option 1]

[She's not exactly in the habit of picking up everything she touches, but- this doesn't seem like the sort of thing one would leave behind on purpose. And besides… it might mean something. In which case, misplacing it's worse.

And so! She's going to head up to people, rose in hand.]

Pardon! But- is this yours, by any chance?

[cue sparkling.]

[Option 4]

[It's hardly the first time the weather has changed for the worse on her, but this is still somewhere K'pandolu's not entirely familiar with. She takes a few steps more, turning her head from side to side, listening hard.]

Hello?

[she can't be the only one caught in this, can she?]
