Test Drive - March Edition
![]() SURPRISE! It's time for our new Rekindle Test Drive! Trying to see if a character will fit or work in the setting? Need some interaction samples? Well this meme is for you! Make a post, tag around, and most importantly, have fun! Here's the setting page for those who want to learn a little more about the city itself. |
Here's some prompts to help you get started, if you need it: |
Option 1 |
[ It's looking gray here, still in that colorless pre-spring phase. There is one bright spot of color, in the form of roses decorating a few tables inside buildings. They even appear to be free for the taking, if you need a little color! And mostly benign. Mostly.] |
Option 2 |
[ The entire city looks pretty new to you, but there seems to be a special amount of shine to one particular spot. Maybe it's just the lights on the ferris wheel, which looks like it could offer a great view of the new city. Only catch is that you're going to end up sharing the ride with another person.] |
Option 3 |
[Apparently this place has a zoo and an aquarium, and is currently holding a special deal and event. Bring a second person in with you, get a special pass to the exhibits! |
Option 4 |
[The slow warming and change in the season has another effect; visibility has a way of suddenly dropping when a cool mist rolls in off the banks of the river and down from the clouds. It's got a chill and dampness to it, and makes it hard to see. You might want to be careful not to bump into anyone while trying to get in out of the fog.] |
Option 5 |
[Whoops. Looks like you haven't taken the cautionary words of the other NPCs to heart, or maybe you just wanted to take your chances. Either way, the withdrawal symptoms have started and you need to find someone to hug quickly before you get even more sick.] |
Option 6 |
[If there's something else you wanted to play with, that you didn't see here, then have fun with that. You've just arrived in a strange city, after all. There's got to be plenty to explore out and about, not to mention people to meet.] |
Rarity | My Little Pony: FiM | Option 4!
[...Was that-- Oh, thank goodness. A silhouette! Another pony! Yes, someone who no doubt knew their way around here, or a pegasus she could ask with the most patience she could muster why this unsightly fog was still hanging about after so long, and if they would be a dear and remove the silly curtain so that they could all go about their business!]
[She took a moment to make sure her mane fell just right- no need to look a fright when you would address a comrade, no?- before moving at a light trot in the silhouette's direction.]
Excuse me...? I wonder if you would be so kind as to give me directions? I'm afraid I've been turned around somewhere...

I can help you, where are you trying to go?
no subject
Err-
[She paused. He was trying to help her, yes? Well, if he knew this area, then he shouldn't look a gift horse-- hm. She cleared her throat, shaking her head to clear it. Charm. Charm keeps the calm and doesn't escalate situations.]
I'm dreadfully sorry for bothering you, dear, but I can't see a thing in this dreadful fog! If I could please be pointed in the direction of Ponyville, I will be on my way.
no subject
Ponyville? I'm afraid that you may be further away from home than expected.
no subject
But you do know this area, don't you? No matter how far my dear home is, I'll find my way back. Perhaps I may not look it, but I've traveled great distances in the past, on hoof no less!
...Unless you're offering a carriage or some accommodation?
[Hopeful? Perhaps.]
no subject
[Confused yet? Allow him to explain.]
When anyone arrives in Saeng Seong, they're usually in the Welcome Center on a certain day. Seeing you here...it brings up some questions. As for accommodations, you can stay with me and my roommate until we figure out what to do.

But man, this was reminding him of that one horror game series that used to terrify him when he tried playing it in Middle school, that Hushed Ridge series...
Wait, w-was there something in the fog? His grip on his flashlight got a bit tighter, even as he chided himself; c'mon, he dealt with serious horrors already, why was he getting freaked out at some weird shape? ...I-it didn't look human th--
Oh, it was talking. Girl's voice too.]
Uh, sure! Where were you hea--

[It... it was a pony. It was such a pony, it was like something out of an elementary girl's dream. A unicorn to boot.
Give... give Junpei a second. Well, at least it wasn't a monster?]
Y-you... new here?
no subject
[But when it touched grass once more, she looked up and frowned.]
...New? New to what?
no subject
[Did she wander away from the welcome center before she got her info package, he wondered? Was it the 18th already, or did she somehow end up here early...?]
Cause unless you're from this city, then you're not in your home world anymore, sorry.
[...Was it even possible to get hair that styled on a horse?]
no subject
[But the frown disappeared, instead replaced by a light laugh. She doesn't believe you, Junpei.]
I think we had ourselves a misunderstanding. I'm standing in Everfree Forest, you're one of the many strange creatures living within it, and I'm due in Ponyville as soon as possible before I worry my dear friends!
[With a lofty 'hm!', she nods in satisfaction before she cants her head in his direction.]
Now, if you'll just point me out of the forest, I'll be on my way. -- Oh, but you probably should come with me, dear! You look perplexed and, if I may say so, a little lost yourself.
no subject
You think we're in a forest?
[Well, then again, they were near the park area... and it was so foggy it would be impossible to see otherwise. And she was from... Ponyville? What, did she step out of some kids anime?
Sooo, now what? Was it worth arguing with her that no, she wasn't home anymore, or should he just--]
Uh, I'm really sorry, miss, but you're in Saeng Seong. I can take you back to the Welcome Center, since I think you must've ended up here by mistake, or something.
[Please don't gorge him with your horn.]
Usually new people show up there on the 18th of March, so I dunno how you'd end up all the way here.
no subject
Not that you haven't given me help! Really, I thought I was by my little old self out here. But as much as I'd love to stand around and chat, darling, I'm afraid this fog will start mussing my mane in due time, and that simply will not do. Lead on!
[With that, the tip of her horn began to glow, and she trod closer, pausing at Junpei's side. A polite nod, and she was prepared to go.]
no subject
Huh, so she could make her horn glow? That's pretty interesting...]
Alright, so we're in district 4 right now, so... the welcome center is--
[And he turned, gesturing forward, his flashlight beam lighting up the rainy clouds of fog around them.]
That way!
[...Worse comes to worse, he'd contact Fuuka on the first Network terminal he found and ask for her to use Juno. Ahahaha...]
So uh, you can use magic, I guess?

[Though she has kept her cool while fighting primals, dancing for sylphs, and cleansing manor infested by demons and darkness, it's hard keeping her own shock and confusion from showing.
The odd equine is being polite - her mother would give her an earful if she were not to return the same amount of courtesy.] I do recall the location of the building I awoke in; I could lead you there, if you want.
no subject
Civilization! Yes, please! I've grown so tired of bushes... and mud.
[She frowns and shakes a slightly dirty hoof for emphasis. She enjoyed a mud bath at a spa, but not actual natural mud. There's no telling WHAT was in it!]
They would have a map or something useful, would they not? Surely, they offer such accommodations.
[Because why would they not?]
no subject
She looks thoughtful for a moment, as she tries to remember what else had been at the welcome center.] I believe I also saw refreshments laid out. Seems we were expected.
[Which is really only a bonus to getting out of this fog. Now... let's see... she had come from...] This way.
[She'll try not to get out of sight.]
