Test Drive - May Edition

Belated May Test Drive! Trying to see if a character will fit or work in the setting? Need some interaction samples? Well this meme is for you! Make a post, tag around, and most importantly, have fun! Here's the setting page for those who want to learn a little more about the city itself. And don't forget to go reserve your character, GO GO GO.......

((PS: We’ve also gotten a suggestion to try and post our Test Drives on the same day as the Activity Check goes up! That is, the last day of the month. We may try that out next time, and see how it works!))

Here's some prompts to help you get started, if you need it:

Option 1

[Animals, animals everywhere! All over the different parts of the city…And perhaps paying you a visit as well! In a strange manner, as you might find yourself looking over Saeng Seong in a different, more fuzzy perspective.]

Option 2

[Petals keep falling on your head; or at least they have a persistent habit of falling from trees that are in full bloom. And as a consequence they form a nice array of color floating on the wind…Or perhaps getting in one’s face and blocking vision. Or in the worst case, causing a sneezing fit from the excess pollen. Still, at least there’s some flowers to help liven up the air?]

Option 3

[Whoops. Looks like you haven't taken the cautionary words of the other NPCs to heart, or maybe you just wanted to take your chances. Either way, the withdrawal symptoms have started and you need to find someone to hug quickly before you get even more sick.]

Option 4

[If there's something else you wanted to play with, that you didn't see here, then have fun with that. You've just arrived in a strange city, after all. There's got to be plenty to explore out and about, not to mention people to meet.]

OPTION 2.

[ When she sees the cherry blossoms, Iori manages to be quite surprised, her eyes growing wide as she wanders around, a smile on her face as she speaks aloud, her cheery voice resonating throughout the area. ]

Waaah, I can't believe it's spring already-♪ The cherry blossoms are really pretty!

OPTION 3.

[ Iori managed to overexert herself a little - she didn't exactly feel too comfortable around the people just yet, no matter how much she pretends to be. ]

Hehe, looks like I messed up...

[ Cough, cough. ]

Can you help me real quick with this?

[Yuna's passing by on a jog when she sees Iori coughing. She knows a 'haven't been touching people enough' cough when she sees one.]

Whoa, you all right?

[Just joggin' on over.]

[ Except her laughter seems to come out as coughs, though she tries to smile through the cold. ]

I'm fine, I'm fine! There's no need to worry about me.

You don't look fine.

[Yuna frowns, crouching down next to her.]

It'll just get worse if you don't touch somebody.

Ah, really?

[ Iori purses her lips as she shifts uncomfortably. This is a little awkward, to talk to someone she just met, but she has to stay strong and play as her ideal self as always. ]

So all I have to do is hold someone's hand or place my hand on my shoulder? That's not that hard!

[ There's a silent "I think," before she coughs again, but she still stands her ground. ]

Okay! [ Her voice raises a few octaves before she clenches her hands into tight fists, fire in her eyes. ] One, twoooo...

[ And she'll manage to place her hand on Yuna's shoulder. Or try to. Holding hands is too much. ]

[Yuna knows this is hard for a lot of people at first, so she doesn't say anything. Iori's got the right idea, so she'll just let her take it at her own speed.]

It'll take longer to feel better depending on how long you've gone without it, but you don't seem too bad off. Do you feel anything yet?

Almost two weeks, I think.

[ She does feel a little better, though she doesn't seem as bad as she used to be just moments earlier. Which means that she's healing, at least, a little. ]

Hm... I guess this can be a little difficult, huh? But it's nothing that Nagase Iori can't push through!

It can be kind of hard at first, but you'll get used to it. It doesn't even have to be this kind of touching, though hugs and stuff are usually the easiest. Like, did you ever play those silly rhyming clapping games with your classmates when you were a kid?

[Yuna laughs, holding up her hands.]

There's lots of ways to make it work if you get creative. Contact sports are good, too! But maybe now we can just do a handshake?

[She holds out a hand for Iori.]

Nice to meet you, Iori. I'm Yuna.

Well, we didn't really do that back at home, but I totally get what you mean! Do piggy back rides count, too?

[ Iori please. ]

And it's nice to meet you too, Yuna!

[ And she'll give a handshake in return. ]

Though it's weird, you don't really do handshakes when you're greeting someone. But I'm not saying that you're weird, Yuna!

Yup, piggy back rides too! And massages and even punching each other!

[Shakin' dat hand.]

You don't? Wow, I really have been away from home too long.

No, it's more like you actually bow when you greet each other? Though I guess that would also depend on what country you're from, I think~

Yeah, I'm from Japan originally, I've just kinda... lived other places for a few years.

Heeeeeh... I see, I see! That must sound like fun.

[ When Iori should pass by one of the cherry blossom trees while admiring the sight of Spring, the ever playful Pikachu that's hanging around in it nimbly locates himself onto the branch that's above her and shakes it! Down comes a few petals, even a flower or two, over the girl.

Hope you don't mind! ]

Oh-?!

[ There's some surprise as she speaks, bright eyes widening as she speaks, seeing the petals fall down, a flower landing right on top of her head. Which makes her surprised as she looks up. ]

...Aaaaaah!

[ Okay, she probably was a little too loud with that scream. ]

Ah, aha... ahaha. Sorry, but hi there! I hope I didn't scare you off, you're so cute! Ahhh, I bet Yui would be really jealous of me right about now, hehehe.

[littlerat]

[ It's Pikachu's fault, really. He knows by now that people are more unfamiliar with his kind than not, but he just couldn't help himself when he saw her! The scream does makes him jump back on the branch, more so for her sake than his own or from fear. But once she speaks out in a much calmer voice, he peaks his head back out to look at her.

And oh, she sounds much better now! He shakes his head at the apology, then his face brightens. Pikachu gives her a wave, along with a squeak in greeting. Hi there yourself!

Following that, Pikachu will decide to get down onto ground level, jumping off from the tree and landing on all fours, then picking himself up onto his back legs and facing her. ]

Ah, you really are cute...

[ And she'll crouch down to his height, trying her best to be polite, her eyes widening as she brightly grins, laughing rather innocently. She's never seen a creature like it before, and she's tempted-

But she made that mistake before, back when she took in all that was cute about mini-Inaban. ]

Do you mind if I pet you?

[ Though she is wondering if he has an owner... ]

[ Pikachu is all about pettings! Hearing the question, he moves his head out for her, his ears lowering. Pikachuu~

Pikachu may or may not be shameless -- especially when cute girls are involved!

But yes, the pokémon does have a trainer. Who actually heard the yelp before, and now spots where Pikachu is. By the time she gives him pets (if she decides to go through with it!) Red should be just reaching them, waving out a hand. ]

Hey, is everything okay?

Ah...

[ When she notices the young boy, Iori stands up, trying not to let the surprise get to her. She figured that the Pikachu had a trainer; he looked so well behaved. And it was nothing like she ever seen before, so she figured that out easily.

So in return, she smiles brightly, hand on her hip. ]

Don't worry, don't worry~ Everything's fine! Does this little guy belong to you?

[littlerat]

[ Red knows that Pikachu wouldn't cause anyone trouble on purpose, but it's good to hear that when he does. He nods to that, smiling at her in return. ]

Yeah - his name's Pikachu. [ He chuckles, glancing to the nearby blossom trees. ] He's been getting festive with the season.

[ Pikachu at this twirls on one foot playfully. Piii! ]

Sorry if he scared you anyway. I know everyone here isn't used to pokémon.

Pikachu, huh...

[ She mulls it over as she taps her chin inquisitively. She could have sworn she heard that name before, somewhere. Oh, well. It's not important right now, anyway. ]

He must like spring!

[ Iori laughs sheepishly, twirling the pigtail around her finger. It was nice to talk to someone like this again, even though they were in a very strange and unsettling place. But she knew she had to keep it cool.

She had to do her best.

Which is why she kept smiling. ]

Don't worry, he didn't really scare me. I was just really surprised when the flower suddenly dropped on my head.

[littlerat]

[ Red isn't against getting to talk to more people, even though it came about because he was worried about what Pikachu had done. But seeing that he is completely innocent and scot free from all crimes, Pikachu has no reason to fear. ]

Flower? [ That makes Red curious though, but Pikachu will answer that one. He skips over to one of the flowers that had fallen from the tree, picking it up and walking back over to them. Pika! ] Ohh.

[ And then he turns around, offering it up to Iori. Piii he says in his most sweetest voice. Red has to laugh, shaking his head. ] We haven't seen spring like this in a long time.

[ Red then bends down, putting an elbow on his knee and resting his chin with a fist. He's looking at you, Pikachu. ] Don't get too charming, you.

Hehehe~ It's fine, it's fine.

[ And she'll crouch down to take it, a sweet grin on her lips as she laughs lightly. ]

[ Much much bigger a smile is returned, Pikachu's ears lowering for the moment into it. An idea seems to then spark in the pokémon's mind when he starts to making questioning sounds. Pii? Pikaa?

He then puts a tiny paw onto her skirt (or trousers), tugging on it gently, then pointing towards the direction Red came. Pi pii? Even Red seems to be curious as to what Pikachu's doing. ] Pikachu?

[ Iori is definitely surprised when Pikachu tugs on her skirt, bright eyes widening slightly as he points towards the area where Red came. She wasn't completely certain what he was trying to get at, but... ]
