Test Drive - May Edition
![]() Belated May Test Drive! Trying to see if a character will fit or work in the setting? Need some interaction samples? Well this meme is for you! Make a post, tag around, and most importantly, have fun! Here's the setting page for those who want to learn a little more about the city itself. |
Here's some prompts to help you get started, if you need it: |
Option 1 |
[Animals, animals everywhere! All over the different parts of the city…And perhaps paying you a visit as well! In a strange manner, as you might find yourself looking over Saeng Seong in a different, more fuzzy perspective.] |
Option 2 |
[Petals keep falling on your head; or at least they have a persistent habit of falling from trees that are in full bloom. And as a consequence they form a nice array of color floating on the wind…Or perhaps getting in one’s face and blocking vision. Or in the worst case, causing a sneezing fit from the excess pollen. Still, at least there’s some flowers to help liven up the air?] |
Option 3 |
[Whoops. Looks like you haven't taken the cautionary words of the other NPCs to heart, or maybe you just wanted to take your chances. Either way, the withdrawal symptoms have started and you need to find someone to hug quickly before you get even more sick.] |
Option 4 |
[If there's something else you wanted to play with, that you didn't see here, then have fun with that. You've just arrived in a strange city, after all. There's got to be plenty to explore out and about, not to mention people to meet.] |

The tension doesn't leave his posture when she stops, but her words drain the alarm out of his expression until he simply looks unsure. Why is she asking? He has to assume it's because of the rough collision.]
Just had something in my eyes. [Damn flower petals. He could have avoided notice if not for them.]

[Still...with how hard his arm had bumped into her, and with how he had looked ready to bolt not even a few seconds earlier...
His 'not well' body language was making her growing concern more apparent in hers.] Are you sure you're well? I am somewhat skilled as a healer - I might be able to help.
[But then again, was this the energy drain? How long had this man been in Saeng Seong?]

Healer? [Someone who... heals? Aren't those usually called doctors?]

It has to be one of those 'other realm' things that is causing it. Perhaps... she should explain it?] I'm proficient in a kind of magecraft known as 'conjury' - the ability to draw on nature to power my spells. One of the spells I know is a healing spell.
[She tilts her head and crosses her arms, looking equal parts worried and curious.] Is magic not common where you are from?

After some hesitation, he shakes his head in reply to her question.] No. [Or, uh.] I don't think so.

[Before she can speak further, or emphasis that the offer to heal still stands, she hears the all-too-familiar sound of a growling stomach. Since she knows it isn't hers, that could only mean...
Well. That explains another part of the confusion. Hunger did funny things to people.] It seems to me that you're in need of more than a little healing.
[Good thing he had bumped into her here, instead of in another part of town. She briefly turns back towards the stall and takes one of those strange purple apples.] Here - this should help somewhat.
[She doesn't move to throw the apple at him, but instead reaches for his left hand with her free one, the intent of placing the apple there herself plain in her body language.
She pauses once she has his hand, a faint look of confusion appearing on her own face.] What in the realms...?
[Something was... off, somehow. Someway.]

His thoughts are cut off when she takes his hand out of his pocket, and he doesn't react to the movement; it's clear she's not moving to attack, but he doesn't understand what it's for. The arm doesn't jerk like it has been the past couple weeks--it's only the signals he's sending not being properly received that are preventing it from working properly. Maybe he'll realize this later if he bothers to think about it.
What's off is likely noticeable almost immediately--underneath the fingerless gloves are fingers of metal, too thin to be an armored glove. He watches her reaction with caution, not certain if she's about to cause a ruckus...]
