Test Drive - May Edition

Belated May Test Drive! Trying to see if a character will fit or work in the setting? Need some interaction samples? Well this meme is for you! Make a post, tag around, and most importantly, have fun! Here's the setting page for those who want to learn a little more about the city itself. And don't forget to go reserve your character, GO GO GO.......

((PS: We’ve also gotten a suggestion to try and post our Test Drives on the same day as the Activity Check goes up! That is, the last day of the month. We may try that out next time, and see how it works!))

Here's some prompts to help you get started, if you need it:

Option 1

[Animals, animals everywhere! All over the different parts of the city…And perhaps paying you a visit as well! In a strange manner, as you might find yourself looking over Saeng Seong in a different, more fuzzy perspective.]

Option 2

[Petals keep falling on your head; or at least they have a persistent habit of falling from trees that are in full bloom. And as a consequence they form a nice array of color floating on the wind…Or perhaps getting in one’s face and blocking vision. Or in the worst case, causing a sneezing fit from the excess pollen. Still, at least there’s some flowers to help liven up the air?]

Option 3

[Whoops. Looks like you haven't taken the cautionary words of the other NPCs to heart, or maybe you just wanted to take your chances. Either way, the withdrawal symptoms have started and you need to find someone to hug quickly before you get even more sick.]

Option 4

[If there's something else you wanted to play with, that you didn't see here, then have fun with that. You've just arrived in a strange city, after all. There's got to be plenty to explore out and about, not to mention people to meet.]

[He couldn't help but be curious after a while. Before, he just figured she was gathering something to make potpurri or just to keep in a jar or something like others have. But twigs and stems interwoven perked his ears and he'd found himself staring.]

[By about her fourth attempt, he checked left and right before quietly making his approach and hunkering down. First impressions were important, he reminded himself. He had to speak up before he was called a creep or thought he was here to take this chick's money or something.]

Uhh... you makin' a crown, or...?

[Kaylee sensed somebody approaching and smiled up at the person, holding out a small tangle of vines.]

Tryin' to, anyway. It ain't goin' so well so far, but that's okay- my hands'll still smell nice.

Well yeah, but what if you walked around with a crown of little white n' pink flowers? Then yer hair smells nice, too.

[Reaching into his pocket, he retrieved his pocket knife and flicked out the blade, shifting the position of his legs to sit in the grass proper. Snagging up the first two stems, he got to work cutting slits beneath the blossoms themselves, then weaving them through one another. The way he picked up others, made the cut and weaved without concentrating too deeply seemed like he wasn't exactly new with arts and crafts.]

You new to Saeng Seong?

[He only peeked up from his work once, but was then back to it, never once crushing delicate stems.]

Man, I'd love that. I'd look like the princess of spring!

[Kaylee carefully watched her companion work- he seemed to be a natural at it, and she looked very impressed.]

Yup, only just got here. Seems like a pretty nice place so far, aside from not bein' able to go home and all.

Ain't a bad deal, I guess- shakin' hands with people's not so hard to put up with, neither. Or, y'know... doin' more with somebody you like or w-whatever...

[He worked a little faster, shoulders hunched. Was his face a little pink? It was a little pink. He peeked up, then back down, gathering more stems. Gotta compensate for her hair so nothing feels too tight, settles nice.]

[Kaylee laughed and put a hand on the man's arm.]

Ain't nothing wrong with that. Me, I'm a huggy kinda person, so I think I'll do pretty well here, even if my crew ain't here...

[The arm was stiff but he didn't pull away. Either the kid worked out or he ate his Wheaties. Nevertheless, he looped the last flower through the previous stem, and then looped the whole thing together. It was a spray of paler pink and deeper pink blossoms, mixed in with some white.]

...Crew? You a pirate or somethin'?

[Without much of a warning he turned, and placed the flower crown atop her head. He canted his head this way and that, getting a feel for the angle, before he reached for more flower stems on the ground and beginning anew. Gotta make that matching bracelet.]

[Kaylee laughed again, almost wanting to get up and dance around. She felt like the spring queen, complete with a beautiful crown.]

Man, that sure does look pretty, don't it? And, well, some might call us pirates, but I don't think of myself that way. We transport cargo on Serenity- she's the best ship to ever sail the skies.
