Test Drive - June Edition
![]() SURPRISE! (Part two!) Here is our new June Test Drive! Trying to see if a character will fit or work in the setting? Need some interaction samples? Well this meme is for you! Make a post, tag around, and most importantly, have fun! Here's the setting page for those who want to learn a little more about the city itself. |
Here's some prompts to help you get started, if you need it: |
Option 1 |
[ The river is well and completely thawed out at this point, flowing through the city at an impressive clip. Swimming is possible, although the currents make it a little risky if you aren't skilled at it. But on the flip side, the Beach Side Shack has put out their fishing supplies; if there's a time to try fishing the river, it's certainly now. Why not grab one of various fishing rods and see if there's anything to catch this time around?] |
Option 2 |
[ With the change in weather, so comes a change in shopping options. Not just warm weather apparel, but various mobile carts and food vendors are starting to range further up and down the streets. Spiced, sweet, sour, savory delicacies are on display from all sorts of wheeled displays getting pulled around. Feel free to give them a try!] |
Option 3 |
[Whoops. Looks like you haven't taken the cautionary words of the other NPCs to heart, or maybe you just wanted to take your chances. Either way, the withdrawal symptoms have started and you need to find someone to hug quickly before you get even more sick.] |
Option 4 |
[If there's something else you wanted to play with, that you didn't see here, then have fun with that. You've just arrived in a strange city, after all. There's got to be plenty to explore out and about, not to mention people to meet.] |
Eiko Carol | Final Fantasy IX
[If one stops by the river today, they may notice a little girl wandering around, curiously scanning the ground for something. Eiko's not really interested in swimming today. The current would probably sweep her away, anyway. And although she knows how to fish, it's still not the same without the moogles around to help.
She does find what she's looking for, however: a pebble. Picking it up, she'll examine it for a moment. Then, she'll throw it at the river ahead, the pebble instead hitting the surface with a not-so-very graceful splash.]
Ugh...! [Cue the loudest grumble! That wasn't supposed to happen.] Why's it not working?!
option 2
[Did somebody say food vendors? Because Eiko's already there, and she's completely enamored by the sight. There's all sorts of fresh food on display.
Fresh food.
Food.
Help herself? Don't mind if she does! Eiko's going all out, grabbing all sorts of fruits to fill her basket. Hey, she's hungry, okay? Although later on, one might notice that she might've been a little overeager with her shopping as she struggles to carry her (rather overstuffed) basket.]
2!
Something tells him he should approach her instead of simply watching her struggle, and he can't see why not, so he does. That doesn't really mean he knows what he plans to do after that, though.]
You can't carry all that. [Eiko, meet Captain Obvious, who is today wearing a scruffy beard, a sweater with the hood down, and his usual fingerless glove. What is dressing for the weather.]
no subject
I'm fine--! [With a mild grunt, she keeps moving. Slowly but surely she's dragging it through the square. S l o w l y...] I've got this, okay!
[And as she says that, a couple apples fall right out of the basket without her even noticing. Totally under control.]
no subject
You don't. You're dropping things.
no subject
Okay, so I don't. Look, I just got here and I'm hungry. Reeeeally hungry. [With a cross of her arms, she scans him up and down while tapping her foot. There's a very expectant look in her eyes.] So...!
no subject
You need someone to carry it. [Give him a second, Eiko, he's not used to offering help. He takes a moment to recognize the look she's giving him as one meaning he's supposed to do something.] Should I?
no subject
Well, yeah. [Duh! Is this guy that clueless or something?] Would you rather just sit there and stare instead? Help a lady out here!
no subject
Where are you going?
no subject
Anywhere I can find a place to sit down and eat, of course! It's not like I'm going to eat all this out here.
[Looks like someone missed the memo on newcomers being assigned rooms.]
no subject
The parks are nearby. [There's way more than plenty of space to sit, and people are more sparse, meaning she's less likely to be interrupted.]
no subject
Hmm... I guess that's not a bad idea. [She reaches for his sleeve, as if to tug him along.] C'mon, you know where it is, right? Let's go!
no subject
Unfortunately, Eiko didn't encounter someone who makes a great conversational partner without a lot of prompting; he stays quiet as he walks along. Hopefully he'll make up for that with being a personal food cart.]
