Welcome to the Rekindle Test Drive! Trying to see if a character will fit or work in the setting? Need some interaction samples? Well this meme is for you! Make a post, tag around, and most importantly, have fun! Here's the setting page for those who want to learn a little more about the city itself. Then don't forget to go reserve your character in a week when they open. Here's some prompts to help you get started, if you need it:

Option 1

[The midsummer heat is still in full swing. But that's okay - enterprising residents on the riverbanks are renting out innertubes for you to float along the cool waters in. The catch? They're innertubes for two, and you're sharing with the person ahead of/behind you in line! Get nice and cozy, you two.]

Option 2

[There's something odd about some of the shops in the third district. There doesn't seem to be any pattern - it's something that can be found in all sorts of establishments. But if you see the twin daisy sign in the window, it turns out that you can get a discount when making a purchase with someone else. It could be someone you know, or someone new entirely, but so long as you both reach the checkout at the same time, you get the discount - a pretty substantial one too! So hey, look and see if there's anyone else shopping with you! Could be a great way to stretch the allowance you've been given.]

Option 3

[Even if there are no children among the natives, it doesn't stop the adults from being a little immature - or maybe the heat's just getting to them. If you glance around, you might notice almost-hidden baskets of water balloons, tucked under benches and against trash cans... If you didn't notice, though, it might be an awful surprise when one hits the back of your head. And when you whip around to look - well, it's probably not immediately obvious who the culprit is. Will you brush it off, yell and scream, or take revenge on the town at large?]

Option 4

[Whoops. Looks like you haven't taken the cautionary words of the other NPCs to heart, or maybe you just wanted to take your chances. Either way, the withdrawal symptoms have started and you need to find someone to hug quickly before you get even more sick.]

Option 5

[If there's something else you wanted to play with, that you didn't see here, then have fun with that. You've just arrived in a strange city, after all. There's got to be plenty to explore out and about, not to mention people to meet.]

No. That's the worse deflection you can have. "Maybe the way things are is wrong," she challenged.

One can see the confidence rushing out of M'gann as the conversation continues, her shoulders starting to bunch up as she glances away.

"...I-I didn't say it was right." She keeps her eyes fixed to the ground now, nervously shifting from foot to foot. The towels left in her hands get worried at with her grip going white knuckled as she grasps at them.

She made herself take a breath. Alien world, possibly from another universe? She should probably focus on the now, and be glad that old white men weren't running things all over the universe.

"...So. Water balloon fight, huh? Can anyone join?"

[littlewhitelies]

"Oh?" She's surprised by the question at first, enough that she glances up to look at Charlie before M'gann can catch herself. A second later she actually picks up on what's being asked.

"I mean, yes! If you want to?" And once she DOES pick up on it, M'gann is fast to pursue that line of conversation.

"Did you have ay extra water balloons?" she prompted, nerves showing through her attempt at calmness. She's really trying to be nice, but she doesn't know how much more prompting sh can give to get past the awkwardness.

[littlewhitelies]

"Yeah, just over this way; c'mon, I can show you!" Plus, this is a chance to be helpful, and of course she'll pounce on that. M'gann even hops a few feet into the air out of eagerness, pointing down the sidewalk to where, sure enough, there's another basketful of the things.

She reaches down to pick one up, giving it a little heft before cocking her arms. Sword fighting, gun shooting - sure. But she hadn't been near a water balloon since she was twelve.
