Welcome to the Rekindle Test Drive! Trying to see if a character will fit or work in the setting? Need some interaction samples? Well this meme is for you! Make a post, tag around, and most importantly, have fun! Here's the setting page for those who want to learn a little more about the city itself. Then don't forget to go reserve your character in a week when they open. Here's some prompts to help you get started, if you need it:

Option 1

[The midsummer heat is still in full swing. But that's okay - enterprising residents on the riverbanks are renting out innertubes for you to float along the cool waters in. The catch? They're innertubes for two, and you're sharing with the person ahead of/behind you in line! Get nice and cozy, you two.]

Option 2

[There's something odd about some of the shops in the third district. There doesn't seem to be any pattern - it's something that can be found in all sorts of establishments. But if you see the twin daisy sign in the window, it turns out that you can get a discount when making a purchase with someone else. It could be someone you know, or someone new entirely, but so long as you both reach the checkout at the same time, you get the discount - a pretty substantial one too! So hey, look and see if there's anyone else shopping with you! Could be a great way to stretch the allowance you've been given.]

Option 3

[Even if there are no children among the natives, it doesn't stop the adults from being a little immature - or maybe the heat's just getting to them. If you glance around, you might notice almost-hidden baskets of water balloons, tucked under benches and against trash cans... If you didn't notice, though, it might be an awful surprise when one hits the back of your head. And when you whip around to look - well, it's probably not immediately obvious who the culprit is. Will you brush it off, yell and scream, or take revenge on the town at large?]

Option 4

[Whoops. Looks like you haven't taken the cautionary words of the other NPCs to heart, or maybe you just wanted to take your chances. Either way, the withdrawal symptoms have started and you need to find someone to hug quickly before you get even more sick.]

Option 5

[If there's something else you wanted to play with, that you didn't see here, then have fun with that. You've just arrived in a strange city, after all. There's got to be plenty to explore out and about, not to mention people to meet.]

"Hey..." Person. Person Barbara somehow gets the oddest feeling she should know. She smiles back, a little nervously, shifting her grip on her clothing.

"Nice choices." There's real appreciation in her voice, there.

Does Barbara actually not recognize her? That... hurts more than she thinks is normal. Even she is pretty much her only friend from Earth not in her adopted family.

Either way, she wants to be sure. "Thanks. I can give you some fashion tips when we get outside, if you want?"

She'd be glad to re-make the woman's acquaintance, if that's any help at all. Frankly, she could use a few friends who actually believe she's Barbara. It's been an uphill battle convincing Steph.

She squashes her first instinct, to ask what's wrong with her fashion. "I'd lik that."

When they get outside, Kara just grins at Barbara. With just a hint of concern in her eyes.

"So, come on. It's me."

[acro_bat_ic]

She hesitated. "...Let me guess. Gothamite from my future?" she hesitated, wracking her mind for a way to soften the blow. "Because I think I'd remember if I knew any cute blond girls with that fashion sense."

[little_girl_lost]

"It's true, I'm hard to forget," she likes to think impossible, really.

Unless time travel is involved. Which could well be the case considering everything else that's happened, she supposes. "You really don't remember partnering up?"

[acro_bat_ic]

"Partnering up?" she glanced about, for listeners. So far - back home - she'd done a better job of keeping her identity hidden from fellow heroes than batman or Robin - it helped that her identity didn't connect directly to theirs.

Here, it was harder to hide, but she was still trying.

"Like... for a dance?" she was hoping Kara would catch that hint. ...Maybe they should get somewhere private.

"Sorta. You wanna dance somewhere nobody can hear us?" Hint accomplished!

She floats a few inches in the air and offers Barbara a hand. "I'll fly low."

Subtlety's not really Kara's strong point.

Barbara should be used to this. First M'gann, now... Kara? Secret identities didn't seem to be much of a thing in their worlds, she was discovering. It sort of made her jealous - if she thought for a moment that anyone would take her seriously outside the bat costume...

She took the hand, a little nervous. "You probably say that to all the girls..."

A quick scan of the surrounding area reveals a quiet little nook that oughta to keep them out of sight and earshot. Well, from non-Kryptonians anyway. "No way. You're my first and only." Kara, it should be noted, is kind of new to Earth and mostly talks the way people do on television. She doesn't exactly get what she's saying.

"Hold on tight. And try not to freak out." If there are no objections from Barbara, she'll be up and away in just a moment.

And Barbara isn't sure how to take what she's hearing. She wonders exactly what sort of relationship her older self had to Kara.

She stayed still, at least. Just trying not to "freak out" as the ground left her feet, and the wind was in her hair, and she was staring up at Kara...
