Test Drive Meme!

Welcome to the Rekindle Test Drive!
Trying to see if a character will fit or work in the setting? Need some interaction samples? Well this meme is for you!

Make a post, tag around, and most importantly, have fun! Here's the setting page for those who want to learn a little more about the city itself.

Then don't forget to go reserve your character in a week when they open.

Here's some prompts to help you get started, if you need it:
Option 1
[The midsummer heat is still in full swing. But that's okay - enterprising residents on the riverbanks are renting out innertubes for you to float along the cool waters in. The catch? They're innertubes for two, and you're sharing with the person ahead of/behind you in line! Get nice and cozy, you two.]
Option 2
[There's something odd about some of the shops in the third district. There doesn't seem to be any pattern - it's something that can be found in all sorts of establishments. But if you see the twin daisy sign in the window, it turns out that you can get a discount when making a purchase with someone else. It could be someone you know, or someone new entirely, but so long as you both reach the checkout at the same time, you get the discount - a pretty substantial one too! So hey, look and see if there's anyone else shopping with you! Could be a great way to stretch the allowance you've been given.]
Option 3
[Even if there are no children among the natives, it doesn't stop the adults from being a little immature - or maybe the heat's just getting to them. If you glance around, you might notice almost-hidden baskets of water balloons, tucked under benches and against trash cans...

If you didn't notice, though, it might be an awful surprise when one hits the back of your head. And when you whip around to look - well, it's probably not immediately obvious who the culprit is. Will you brush it off, yell and scream, or take revenge on the town at large?]
Option 4
[Whoops. Looks like you haven't taken the cautionary words of the other NPCs to heart, or maybe you just wanted to take your chances. Either way, the withdrawal symptoms have started and you need to find someone to hug quickly before you get even more sick.]
Option 5
[If there's something else you wanted to play with, that you didn't see here, then have fun with that. You've just arrived in a strange city, after all. There's got to be plenty to explore out and about, not to mention people to meet.]

Is that really what you want?

[ He lifts the man's hand, to nuzzle his cheek along the back of his palm. Small reliefs, but he could feel the nausea lifting just so. ]

You won't cease to exist simply by allowing yourself to saturate in your guilt, Mister Kevin.

[ His lids slant to match his feral grin. ]

Allow me to assist in easing your suffering, so that you might have the strength to take a more active role in your path to destruction. A small kindness, for you would be helping me much in the same way.

What--?

[ He is still in his own world, but some of Vincent's words register: guilt, suffering, destruction... ]

Sir Kevin.

[ he says automatically. He is confused. How does this man know him?

So distracted is he by these questions, he fails to notice the lessening of pain and the warmth suffusing through his body at Vincent's touch, at least not consciously. On an unconscious level he must, for he doesn't pull his hand away. ]

Who are you?

[ Oh, this is fun. He's certainly in all chuckles! ]

Sir Kevin, then. My apologies!

[ It's almost fond, the way he reaches his other hand out to draw modestly gloved fingertips over the bandage that wraps over Kevin's eye. He steps closer, like he might see right through them, drawing the hand he still holds to press against his chest. ]

You really don't recognize me? What a shame. I remember you quite well.

The first we'd met, I was much smaller then. But you... You look just the same as that time.

[ A thoughtful tilt of the head, while he leans in dangerously close. ]

As for the name, call me nosy, but I was incredibly intrigued as to why the Mister Mad Hatter I know - [ And with an easy pluck, he might pull those bandages loose! ] - goes by an old look and different alias...
