Test Drive Meme - November Edition
![]() Welcome to the Rekindle Test Drive! Trying to see if a character will fit or work in the setting? Need some interaction samples? Well this meme is for you! Make a post, tag around, and most importantly, have fun! Here's the setting page for those who want to learn a little more about the city itself. Then don't forget to go reserve your character, GO GO GO....... |
Here's some prompts to help you get started, if you need it: |
Option 1 |
[Wherever you were, whatever you were doing, it doesn't matter. All it takes is blinking, or stepping into a dark room before the lights are turned on. Anything to obscure your vision for a moment. Just a moment, but in that moment, a pull is felt, and suddenly, you are elsewhere. Just where that 'elsewhere' happens to be is something that needs to be figured out. It appears to be a busy city, though, so it shouldn't be too hard finding anyone at all! Feel free to explore, try to find answers, or just take a moment to catch your breath. Whatever it was that pulled you to this place left you feeling a tad disoriented.] |
Option 2 |
[Though the temperatures have been remarkably warm for the beginning of the season, the humidity has finally given way to a crisp, cool feeling in the air that is far more refreshing to those not used to a tropical or sub-tropical 'fall'. All of the stock is being rotated out of the Mall and Marketplace by the dutiful shop keepers - the bright colors and shorter cuts of summer clothing being replaced by the more muted, richer earth tones and the long sleeves of the proper season. In celebration of the start of the equivalent of 'fall' in the city, all the stores are holding a special - should you wish to purchase any new clothes for the shifting season and arrive at the counter with a friend, you get a discount! Perhaps you should find someone to purchase your items with...?] |
Option 3 |
[There is practically no warning for the change in the weather. One moment, the air is crisp and cool, and the skies only have a few clouds. The next moment, the skies have darkened and the clouds up above have opened up into a steady, unrelenting rainfall. Luckily, there seem to be a number of small shelters erected at even intervals along the streets. There seems to be enough room under those shelters for two to three people to stand - perhaps there's even someone standing under one now, waiting for the rain to pass. At least you'll have someone to talk to while you wait out the rain!] |
Option 4 |
[Whoops. Looks like you haven't taken the cautionary words of the other NPCs to heart, or maybe you just wanted to take your chances. Either way, the withdrawal symptoms have started and you need to find someone to hug quickly before you get even more sick.] |
Option 5 |
[If there's something else you wanted to play with, that you didn't see here, then have fun with that. You've just arrived in a strange city, after all. There's got to be plenty to explore out and about, not to mention people to meet.] |
Option 3 | Prussia | Axis Powers Hetalia
He didn't hurry to a shelter. He strolled to the nearest shelter instead, humming to himself as his booted feet made squelching sounds in mud that was rapidly developing.
He doesn't even notice if there's another person already under the shelter, not yet, anyways.]

Pick an option! Any option! So long as it's one or two.
"...huh. Didn't quite picture this place bein' so touchy-feely."
Korso was definitely in an unfamiliar environment here-- one, it seemed like Earth. Not entirely like the one he left behind, but the people who lived there sure as hell looked human. And these buildings weren't exactly alien, just...old looking. Really old looking. At least to a guy from 3043ce. Yet, somehow, here he was.
Which was kind of odd, since the last thing he remembered was being electrocuted. And considering the amount of power coursing through the Titan at that particular moment, he wasn't even going to entertain the notion that he'd somehow survived the ordeal. So, this had to be the afterlife. Or something. Because while he wasn't exactly a scholar on the subject, he was fairly confident no Earthly or Alien religion involved one of those with the stipulation you had to live a life of perpetual physical contact or go all sickly.
Feel free to bother the totally-not-a-senior-yet space captain as he stands around taking it all in. And hey, the guy seems approachable enough. Has that air about him. Probably because of that charmingly rogue-ish nature.
[OPTION TWO]
"You gotta be kidding me."
Yep. Here he was, trying to expand his wardrobe beyond the clothes he showed up in, and right in front of him on a rack of questionably tasteful shirts [seriously Korso stop it with the Hawaiian-style shirts, they just scream 'I survived my mid-life crisis' in the worst way] was a big sign advertising a discount! Which, normally, that was good because it meant hey, he could afford to buy things, but the stipulation for this particular discount was a little odd.
"What kind o' shop are these weirdos runnin?"
TWO because 1 would probably happen in game if you app'd him
Possibly. He'd actually be asking to go back to being dead, more than likely >>
She'd understand
One can only hope, otherwise he'd just seem kind of crazy.

Kairi | Kingdom Hearts (AU)
[ The only thing Kairi remembered about how she arrived here was after being dragged from her home, Destiny Islands. She decided a little walk after the journey she had wouldn't hurt anyone, but man, was she wrong. Clearly she wasn't ready for a change of scenery nor location.
But, maybe someone needed her, thus the impromptu trip? No, if that was the case, then she'd feel some sense of familiarity here. Around here, there was none. No familiar tingle of magic, no sense of home...
Either way, it made her uneasy and she didn't like it. Still, she's going to be as optimistic as possible. Maybe she'll run in to her friends here!
The Keyblade Wielder picks herself up and dusts off the pink jacket while adjusting her sleeves slightly. She starts walking, cupping her hands around her mouth while looking around. ]
Riku! Sora! You guys around here?! Gimme a sign if you are!
[ Because that's the most effective way to find your friends. ]
Option 2
[ The thought of purchasing new clothes was a little weird to Kairi, but it was a wise investment nonetheless. After all, she didn't have Flora, Fauna nor Merryweather here to patch up her clothes if they were irreparably damaged. So, she's browsing through the racks and picking through the clothes here and there, trying to find something she likes. ]
...Hm...Don't they have anything more tomboyish...?
Option 2 - gomen for icons, they're still being drawn
that is okay. i do not have my full range of icons just yet either.

Option 2;
Annie Hagen | DC Animated Universe
Annie clutched her head, blinking profusely. She'd... she'd been running away. From her father. From Clayface. From herself? She still didn't understand, not really. -But Robin had needed her help. He couldn't take Clayface by himself - he was too strong. And... she was the one he wanted.
She remembered tackling him. She remembered his body giving way beneath her, his clay trying to grip at her, tug her into its mass. His mind crushing down all around her...
And then nothing. She'd somehow ended up here. Wherever here was... inside of Clayface's mind, maybe? In a dream?
The question came back to her again: Was she even real? Or just a fragment of her father's mind? She wasn't even supposed to exist... She wasn't even real.
Option 3:
Rain.
She was running from it, her cloak held over her head, trying to keep it from splashing down on her. She knew that it probably couldn't hurt her - not something light like this - but she ran anyway...
Water had always been one of Clayface's greatest weaknesses. He couldn't really hold a shape in it,as a rule. She was just a fragment of clayface - able to hold her form continuously, without apparent effort - yet she worried that the same thing would happen to her if she got drenched.
What if she turned into nothing but a pile of goop? What if she couldn't reform herself - or if she lost her personality, with her form? She knew it was ridiculous, but she ran anyway. She ran and she ran and she ran.
Until she saw cover. With a sob of relief, she darted under it.
Option 3!

Canada from Axis Powers Hetalia
[Canada feels right at home in the chilly weather. Years of experience also make him one of the best people to ask about what makes a quality sweater. At the moment he's looking at a bright red one, feeling the yarn and judging if it's worth the price it's at. He hangs it over his shoulder for the moment and pokes and feels the other sweaters hanging on the rack in front of him. To someone walking by it probably looks like he's a weirdo who likes stroking all the winter wear.]
Option 3
[If he had known it was going to rain he would have brought an umbrella with him. He stands under one of the shelters debating if he should run through the rain back to his apartment; he was caught in the downpour long enough for his clothes to start clinging to him in the most uncomfortable way. What was a little more rain? He hesitated still; would one of the passing people with an umbrella would be kind enough to help him get home?]

Daimon | OC | OTA
[Daimon is a resilient soul if nothing else, and eventually his curiosity gets over his shock and he starts poking around the city. He can't help but admit to himself that as weird as this all is, and as involuntarily as the change of venue was, getting away from home--from Lilith--has left him strangely relieved.]
[He stays in human form for now, as he has no idea how even a very mellow tiger would be received wandering around this place, and concentrates on gathering as much information as he can.]
Option 2
[Watching the shops change for the season as he walks among them reminds Daimon of Kyoto half a century ago, and he hums the background tune to an old Japanese poem as he walks around. All the sales make him long for cash to take advantage--he's ever attracted to beautiful things--but he doesn't want to disturb the atmosphere by going pickpocketing or deceiving the shopkeepers. It's a problem. Perhaps he can find a clear spot and perform for some coin?]
[He finds an open spot by a fountain, sets out his hat, and taps it twice with his finger, invoking a little illusion. A rainbow comes dancing out of the hat, and he starts guiding it around with his hands, sending it rippling through the air like a small and very gaudy dragon.]

Ashe Wilson | Mage: the Ascension
[It's a great idea, in her opinion. She just plain can't work a straight job any more anyway, and if physical contact is a constant need, well then...all she really needs is a massage table, permission to run her business out of her home, and some self-promotion. Hopefully her bodyworker's license will be good here.]
[The problem is that Ashe is completely unfamiliar with this place. She received what would probably be perfectly good directions if they had been given to a normal person, but they just...didn't stick in her memory. She knows she's in the right district, but...that's it.] Well damn, now I feel like a dumbass.
[She tries to get the nearest person's attention.] Excuse me, if you're not too busy, I'm a little lost...

Option 3 | Y'akeno Lhea (Archer Adventurer) | Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn
The sudden rainshowers and thunderstorms in her chosen city-state? Nooooot so much.
Ears flattening against her skull, the archer ducked under the first shop awning and shuddered. Cold and rainy. This was the most absolutely purrrrfect combination. Not. Though she does apologize if she accidentally bumped into you in her search for cover. ]

Option 3 ~ Aqua ~ Kingdom Hearts
Aqua hadn't even had time to look up inquiringly with her hand held out before the sky opened on top of her. she swallows a yelp, covering her head with her billowing sleeves and heading for the shelter of a paltry, threadworn awning over an old and dusty storefront nearby.
she likes rain - but she likes having some warning to be able to enjoy it. oh well. with a small sigh, she just starts wiping off the wet and shaking off her shoes. maybe she should have bought an umbrella...]

Raneilin Ko'Nadur | Dungeons and Dragons OC
[The sheer variety of garments on display was mind-boggling. All manner of sizes and styles - many of which she didn't recognize at that - and in so many colors.
The colors. The fabrics. She was used to deep, rich colors in fabrics such as cotton being luxury items. Only the truly wealthy could afford the cost, what with dyes being as expensive as they were and cotton being a very labor-intensive product.
Yet here, there was so much of that same fabric, and in such colors! And not only cotton, but strange tunic-like garments in what could only be a knit wool, pants in some of the strangest styles she has ever laid eyes on.
It was almost too much to take in. The dazed, overwhelmed look on her face spoke volumes.] Where to even begin...?
[It wasn't as if she didn't have the coin, after all.]
Sweet Pea | Sucker Punch | Option 4 or just set the scene for another
[Then again, Sweet Pea thought, maybe this is what they were talking about. Those withdrawal symptoms. She shook her head. No, that didn't make any sense and she wasn't some idiot that would just give it up for anyone, not anymore, not here, not anywhere. She could hug herself if she had to. Maybe even get a puppy. The first man to touch her was going to burn.]
[... So she walked on, trying to figure out which building she lived in again and was it even on this street???]
