Welcome to the Rekindle Test Drive! Trying to see if a character will fit or work in the setting? Need some interaction samples? Well this meme is for you! Make a post, tag around, and most importantly, have fun! Here's the setting page for those who want to learn a little more about the city itself. Then don't forget to go reserve your character in a week when they open. Here's some prompts to help you get started, if you need it: Option 1 [While the days grow longer and warmer and the older, oriental-style of the city would normally make one think that the interiors would not be much in the way of relief from the hot sun, it may surprise the guest to see that the apartments the natives have allocated for them are surprisingly comfortable. In fact, the only modern convenience they may be missing is a television set! At least, outside the media floor on the first floor of Building One - the first of four inter-connected buildings. In fact, each apartment building seems to have at least one different amenity on the first floor. In Building Two they seemed to even spare a library in another that seems to have the basics and some information packets that are otherwise found in the Welcome Center in District 2. There are even a few restaurants and common dining areas in the Building Three that are open until late at night, and meeting areas and a ballroom on the first floor in Building Four, perfect for setting up small parties or big events. With the locals gone save those who work in the restaurants and the one librarian, leaving you to your own devices, what will you do? What mysteries could be left to discover in this place?] Option 2 [With summer coming, the water level in the river is starting to go down, exposing some of the beach. The Riverside Shack is open late, and its restaurant is pulling out all the stops and offering seafood specials (even though a river is a far cry from an ocean). The rental store, meanwhile, is finally bringing out more of its swimming supplies, inner tubes and pool noodles, and a calmer stretch of the river has been roped off with buoys for swimming. They even have lifeguards chairs set up. Clearly this sort of thing used to be an annual event. It's not quite an ocean beach (quite different actually), but there's still plenty of chance to have fun in the water. Or teach someone to swim, perhaps.] Option 3 [If you're more inclined to explore or learn, the City's Learning Center might be more to your tastes. There certainly seems to be a lot going on here - there's laboratories and libraries and workshops, and plenty of communal areas where you can meet and talk with people. The natives seem pretty absorbed with their studies and work, though they're polite in brushing you off, at least. Perhaps you'll have more luck seeing what other Guests such as yourself have discovered?] Option 4 [Whoops. Looks like you haven't taken the cautionary words of the other NPCs to heart, or maybe you just wanted to take your chances. Either way, the withdrawal symptoms have started and you need to find someone to hug quickly before you get even more sick.] Option 5 [If there's something else you wanted to play with, that you didn't see here, then have fun with that. You've just arrived in a strange city, after all. There's got to be plenty to explore out and about, not to mention people to meet.]

It feels like that argument has always been used against him ever since he first climbed into Eva 01. Someone had to do it and it was just his luck that it had to be him. Furiously he shook his head.]</sub>

[ Ethan couldn't help but frown at the pilot tensing up and curling into himself at the pokemon trainer's touch. He was quick to pull his hand away, hoping that'll relax Shinji any bit.

Growing up, Ethan's mother always taught the boy to be nice to everyone, no matter what, unless they prove to not deserve it. Especially be kind to those who seem like they need it the most.

This boy in front of him clearly seemed like he wanted to be alone. but... Ethan couldn't help but worry. So rather than be put off at Shinji for rejecting his touch and not answering his question, Ethan put on a slight smile. He always was more patient than most people he knew. So he nods.]

I mean, I like my quiet times, too. But it's going to get dark in a few more hours. Won't you get cold and possibly get sick staying longer like this? Especially in the water, like now! It's a little late for swim, don't you think?

[Days!ku meanwhile keeps his face blank even as he sees the hint of a smirk on that of the other - he doesn't see anything funny about this really. He has no idea what the Organization would want with another replica of him either; were they hoping that it would hinder Sora's restoration like... that girl's existence had? Or was the other perhaps an accumulation of Sora's Riku-related memories gathering in another replica? But in that case... shouldn't the other look younger rather than even older than himself?

Question over question and his face-double adding one does certainly not help.]

I'm not sure yet.

[All that he's sure of is that it's best to stay wary for now. Though, the other's offer is certainly worth thinking about.]

...A truce then?

[It would suite him quite well right now. Fighting now, while he doesn't have any idea of the situation is pointless, something he would have done maybe a year ago. But not anymore.]

[Riku turns his head when he hears his name being called, head tilting when he spots the girl; eyes narrowing at her beneath his blindfold as he ignores her question in favor of trying to figure out just why she is familiar... and a moment later he knows.]

You are... that girl. [The one that he is forgetting about. The one he is supposed to forget about. Riku stares at her confused, shock dawning on his face as half-gone memories snap back into place and a name rolls over his lips as if he had never had trouble remembering it in first place.] ...Xion.

[But... how?]

[Riku, on the other hand, just gets more tense at that statement - why is Roxas acting so familiar? And-]

...What do you mean by 'without you'?

[He wades closer to Shinji. The sensation is strange.]

I'm sorry. I never wanted such unhappiness for you.

Then I'll be fine in a moment.

[He turns so that he's leaning with his back against the wall, using it to steady himself. It's only then that he finally gets a good look at the girl beside him.]

...You-

[...No way.]

[Mani blinks not at the fact the cat is talking, but at the fact it seemed to think she wouldn't be able to handle it.]

I've never met a person who couldn't talk. [Mani crouches down so she was closer to the cat's level.] I never met anyone who walked on all fours where I'm from either.

What's your name? I'm Mani.

[S&D!ku, however, does. Because he has a few more years of experience and intel from three former members-turned-fugitives. Now that he thought about it, those remaining didn't have the full expertise Vexen had, and he's pretty sure Axel couldn't make much from the man's chicken scratch.]

Pretty sure the Organization couldn't make another replica after someone eliminated Vexen.

[Or if they could, it would be with plenty of trial-and-error. Maybe just too much after a certain trio fled.]

Sure. I'm more interested in finding out how there's two of us, anyway.

[Maybe in the next life he'll be able to thank Axel. ...Maybe. After punching him for making his two best friends cry after all the grief they gave him for distancing himself.]

Un! It works. See, we need physical contact with other people or else we get sick if we go too long without it.

[As if to reiterate Yuugi's point Luke feels that nausea again so Yuugi doesn't waste any time. He wraps the other boy in a gentle hug, holding him there with a bright smile. Helping others out made him feel pretty good.]

My name is Yuugi, by the way!

"Five second rule?" Pippin blinked, unaware of that particular saying. He would have heartily approved of a fifteen-second rule, though, and he found himself down on the ground with the giant walking patchwork quilt picking up candies-- and popping them into his mouth, half the time-- without a single qualm. "There's a rule about seconds? Do you only get five of them? I usually wind up with thirds or fourths-- or fifths. Though sometimes more, I suppose!"

He was babbling a bit. He didn't quite know what else to do, between the hilarity of talking with a giant wrapped in cloth while picking up spilled M&Ms. Well, besides sit down and laugh, and that wasn't productive.

Yuugi was a little lost too, but at the sight of such a pretty girl asking for someone to rescue her well, he couldn't help but want to help her! She looked so sad, so of course it was part of his job to try and make her feel better. If nothing else have a young-looking school boy in front of you trying to cheer you up with a bright smile.

"I can help, if you want."

"Well, that I have, actually," Lee chuckled, peering in at the picture of himself, a walking scarecrow, and Hester's nose and paws peeking out. She'd hurriedly sidled around to his other side when she found his shoulder grabbed, just to be sure. "Though nowhere near this fancy, I gotta admit. Photos where I'm from ain't that simple. Y'jest touched the screen and it took a picture?"

"Wonder if they print," Hester muttered, amused, though a little wary of the construct.

[Richard glances up. Because it's Asbel, he relaxes. He feels no obligation to bury weaknesses around such a friend.]

I'm feeling a little dizzy; that's all. I fear it may be the sun having its effect on me.

[Lee stares at him in mild confusion.]

Circus where I come from only does th'performance part. Y'know, lion tamers, acrobats, clowns, dancin' bears? Not a lot of fightin' goes on there, that I know of.

He had wanted to die instead of damn the human race. It was a selfless choice on the Angel's part, but not one Shinji had wanted any part in. He had never wanted to kill anyone in the first place.]}

[...Well, Riku won't be all that surprised when/if he finds out. Because really, Sora.

He is a bit too focused on stopping the world from spinning though, trying to control his breath as he turns to press his back against the wall for more stability.

Until he hears that voice, but... there's no way...]

S-Sora? [Excuse that dumbfound expression.] ...You are awake.

"It is well trained," Alice noted, taking a closer look and smiling as the mouse greeted her. "The two of you must be good friends." She frowns a bit at that, but shakes her head lightly. "I do not know what our best plan of action is, in any event, but I would expect it begins with more research. Sitting idly by and waiting for something to happen will not help us."

[Well... he definitely does have the information advantage there.]

[Though that doesn't explain how- Yeah. Okay, this is kind of freaky. If he didn't know better he'd almost suspect that the other was reading his mind.]

[He jumps down from his spot on his roof, easily landing not too far from his... look-alike. So. Any bright ideas how they go about this?]

Yes, you will be if you would just hold my hand. [Such a stubborn boy!

As he looked at her she tilted her head.]

Oh! [Alice jumped slightly and then waved in return.]

H-Hello!

"H-hello Sir." Mani smiles shyly even as she stands to attention. "I am. I'm still trying to learn the rules."

Hopefully if she had done something wrong this human won't be to upset with her. This place is so strange.

Again, just two words for all she's given. It's something recurrent in his answers to anything; the fewer he needs to spare at once, the better. But her praise makes him give Pikachu a knowing glance (if she knew its strength, their years...), and her advice has him adjusting his hat, red eyes set towards their first goal.

He's already started walking again, though he has the manners to at least look back expectantly after a step or two.
