Welcome to the Rekindle Test Drive!Trying to see if a character will fit or work in the setting? Need some interaction samples? Well this meme is for you! Make a post, tag around, and most importantly, have fun! Here's the setting page for those who want to learn a little more about the city itself. Then don't forget to go reserve your character in a week when they open. Here's some prompts to help you get started, if you need it: | | Option 1 | [While the days grow longer and warmer and the older, oriental-style of the city would normally make one think that the interiors would not be much in the way of relief from the hot sun, it may surprise the guest to see that the apartments the natives have allocated for them are surprisingly comfortable. In fact, the only modern convenience they may be missing is a television set! At least, outside the media floor on the first floor of Building One - the first of four inter-connected buildings.
In fact, each apartment building seems to have at least one different amenity on the first floor. In Building Two they seemed to even spare a library in another that seems to have the basics and some information packets that are otherwise found in the Welcome Center in District 2. There are even a few restaurants and common dining areas in the Building Three that are open until late at night, and meeting areas and a ballroom on the first floor in Building Four, perfect for setting up small parties or big events.
With the locals gone save those who work in the restaurants and the one librarian, leaving you to your own devices, what will you do? What mysteries could be left to discover in this place?] | | Option 2 | [With summer coming, the water level in the river is starting to go down, exposing some of the beach. The Riverside Shack is open late, and its restaurant is pulling out all the stops and offering seafood specials (even though a river is a far cry from an ocean). The rental store, meanwhile, is finally bringing out more of its swimming supplies, inner tubes and pool noodles, and a calmer stretch of the river has been roped off with buoys for swimming. They even have lifeguards chairs set up. Clearly this sort of thing used to be an annual event.
It's not quite an ocean beach (quite different actually), but there's still plenty of chance to have fun in the water. Or teach someone to swim, perhaps.] | | Option 3 | [If you're more inclined to explore or learn, the City's Learning Center might be more to your tastes. There certainly seems to be a lot going on here - there's laboratories and libraries and workshops, and plenty of communal areas where you can meet and talk with people. The natives seem pretty absorbed with their studies and work, though they're polite in brushing you off, at least.
Perhaps you'll have more luck seeing what other Guests such as yourself have discovered?] | | Option 4 | [Whoops. Looks like you haven't taken the cautionary words of the other NPCs to heart, or maybe you just wanted to take your chances. Either way, the withdrawal symptoms have started and you need to find someone to hug quickly before you get even more sick.] | | Option 5 | [If there's something else you wanted to play with, that you didn't see here, then have fun with that. You've just arrived in a strange city, after all. There's got to be plenty to explore out and about, not to mention people to meet.] |

Alice Liddell | Alice in Wonderland | Option 3
She had gone exploring and now she was lost. She had tried to ask for help but all the natives didn't have time to answer her, telling her (even if politely) to ask someone else. And the more she traveled to try and ask someone, the more lost she became. Alice worried her lip and pulled at her fingers. She didn't want to get upset. If she got even more upset she'd end up crying and if people weren't going to help her find her way when she wasn't crying, why would they help her if she were?
A deep breath and she saw someone, on the verge, she went up to them and called out.
"E-Excuse me, please, could you help me?"
no subject
"Of course I can help you! I'm assuming you're lost and you need a hug?"
Such a young girl much feel terrible at being taken from her home.
no subject
"Oh sir, thank you very much. I am terribly lost, yes. I was just exploring but I don't know how to get back to the apartment building and no one was telling me!" she shared her plight. "Would you know how to get back?"
no subject
[another friendly smile]
And no need to "sir" me! You can call me Yogi! I'm with Circus, but you probably don't know who that is!"

[He grabs her hand gently and begins walking her in the direction of apartment building, giving her hand a comforting squeeze.]
no subject
But you are older than me, sir. It would be impolite.
no subject
[He smiles as they turn on the street the apartment building is on.]
See? There's the building. We'll be there soon.
no subject
[At the sight of the building she brightens up considerably.]
Oh splendid! You've found it!
no subject
Do you want me to walk you all the way to your room?
no subject
no subject
[That comes with tracking down criminals.]
And it's no problem. I'm glad I found you before you got too scared...

"I can help, if you want."
no subject
"Oh thank you so very much, sir," Alice offered a smile, her worry starting to become less and less.
no subject
And of course he's sort of used to the staring but it does kind of make him self-conscious. At least she's cute enough that he doesn't even squirm under her gaze!
"I'm Yuugi. Are you new around here? Where are you trying to go?"
no subject
"My name is Alice, Mr. You-gee, it's a pleasure to meet you," she said as she stood up straight. Being English and having no experience with an Asian language, Alice unfortunately butchered the pronunciation of Yuugi's name, doing the best she can to say it.
"I'm trying to get back to the living complex, sir. I only arrived yesterday. Do you live here?"
no subject
Though, it seemed like he was going to have to do some self exploration seeing as how most of the people seemed to absorbed in whatever they were doing to even look up at him. It was strange to be ignored given his nature, but he knew how wrapped up in things people could become.
But then he saw the young girl who was obviously becoming increasingly upset by the moment, yet no one stopped to even give her a passing glance. Humans could be so cold hearted to one another just as vampires could.
He went up to the blond child and smiled at her softly.
"It's okay, I'll help you now." he said kindly.
no subject
"Thank you very much, sir!" was her enthusiastic response. "I was getting terribly worried about where I was. I've only just arrived to this place, you see and was looking about. But I couldn't find my way back! And when I tried to ask for help, I kept getting more and more lost and... well... here I am."
no subject
"I'm afraid I won't be much help in directing you back where you came from since I'm pretty lost myself. But! It's not safe for you to be wandering around by yourself" he said with a nod. They were in the same boat but Takuma had more of an edge to him.
"If you'd like, we can wander around lost together. It's better to be lost with someone than by yourself, don't you think?" he said with another chipper chuckle.
no subject
"Oh but yes, it's much nicer with you sir! Why, being lost with someone else doesn't much feel like being lost as all, don't you think?"
no subject
The blond noble held out his hand for her to take. "Being lost with someone feels more like an adventure than mindless wandering. I'm Takuma Ichijou. It's nice to meet you"
no subject
"My name is Alice, Alice Liddell. A pleasure to meet you Mr. Itchy-joe," she replied as she, unfortunately, butchered Takuma's last name with her English pronunciation of Japanese. "I completely agree that getting lost with another person doesn't actually feel like being lost. It's an adventure certainly! What shall we explore! Oh! We should pretend to be great adventurers! It shall be a splendid game! Who would you like to pretend to be!"
no subject
"Ee-chee-joh", he corrected. "Let's see...If I were an adventurer, I think I'd be a knight! With a gleaming sword and shining armor! What about yourself?"
no subject
"Oh! Alright, hmm... well, if you're a knight... well, I could be a princess... or perhaps your noble steed who is able to speak! Oh but! No, I think I shall be... Ah, I know! Well, I shall be the adventurous Queen Alice! Who had her kingdom stolen from her by the wicked warlock and we're on an epic quest with the only loyal knight of the kingdom! We're off to find the mystical stone, the twin stone that is the good stone to counter the evil stone of the warlock!" Alice was bouncing at the idea of this pretend game. "Come, valiant knight! We've nasty goblins to slay and to find the mystical stone to save the kingdom!"
