Welcome to the Rekindle Test Drive! Trying to see if a character will fit or work in the setting? Need some interaction samples? Well this meme is for you! Make a post, tag around, and most importantly, have fun! Here's the setting page for those who want to learn a little more about the city itself. Then don't forget to go reserve your character in a week when they open. Here's some prompts to help you get started, if you need it: Option 1 [While the days grow longer and warmer and the older, oriental-style of the city would normally make one think that the interiors would not be much in the way of relief from the hot sun, it may surprise the guest to see that the apartments the natives have allocated for them are surprisingly comfortable. In fact, the only modern convenience they may be missing is a television set! At least, outside the media floor on the first floor of Building One - the first of four inter-connected buildings. In fact, each apartment building seems to have at least one different amenity on the first floor. In Building Two they seemed to even spare a library in another that seems to have the basics and some information packets that are otherwise found in the Welcome Center in District 2. There are even a few restaurants and common dining areas in the Building Three that are open until late at night, and meeting areas and a ballroom on the first floor in Building Four, perfect for setting up small parties or big events. With the locals gone save those who work in the restaurants and the one librarian, leaving you to your own devices, what will you do? What mysteries could be left to discover in this place?] Option 2 [With summer coming, the water level in the river is starting to go down, exposing some of the beach. The Riverside Shack is open late, and its restaurant is pulling out all the stops and offering seafood specials (even though a river is a far cry from an ocean). The rental store, meanwhile, is finally bringing out more of its swimming supplies, inner tubes and pool noodles, and a calmer stretch of the river has been roped off with buoys for swimming. They even have lifeguards chairs set up. Clearly this sort of thing used to be an annual event. It's not quite an ocean beach (quite different actually), but there's still plenty of chance to have fun in the water. Or teach someone to swim, perhaps.] Option 3 [If you're more inclined to explore or learn, the City's Learning Center might be more to your tastes. There certainly seems to be a lot going on here - there's laboratories and libraries and workshops, and plenty of communal areas where you can meet and talk with people. The natives seem pretty absorbed with their studies and work, though they're polite in brushing you off, at least. Perhaps you'll have more luck seeing what other Guests such as yourself have discovered?] Option 4 [Whoops. Looks like you haven't taken the cautionary words of the other NPCs to heart, or maybe you just wanted to take your chances. Either way, the withdrawal symptoms have started and you need to find someone to hug quickly before you get even more sick.] Option 5 [If there's something else you wanted to play with, that you didn't see here, then have fun with that. You've just arrived in a strange city, after all. There's got to be plenty to explore out and about, not to mention people to meet.]

[Mami did take the warnings from the various natives to heart but it seems like she wanted to take her chances. A Puella Magi's body is different from a normal human's; it is more resilient and is able to make them fight many witches until the point to exhaustion. But this feeling is quite different from your typical illness. Also, somehow her magic felt weaker yet her Soul Gem isn't dimming at all. How strange...

She shook her head, putting these thoughts at the back of her mind as she continued walking around the city. That is, until she suddenly keeled over, holding on to a wall for support. Her head was spinning, her breathing came in short gasps. She had prided herself in being strong and yet here she was; weak and unable to make the walk back to her apartment.

Mami can only hope there would be someone kind enough to help her out in this situation.]

[It had been chance that brought Roxas near this part of the city. As much as he wanted to do some exploring himself, the streets were narrow enough to easily get lost in. He had only just recognized where he was after picking up some bread and cold cuts when he saw Mami nearby.

Oh, no. He'd been through the same situation, if this is what he thinks it is.

He approaches her cautiously; he'll keep his distance for now, though he knows that may not help her much. He raises his free hand just slightly, enough to be at the ready to catch her, should she faint or fall.]

Are you feeling alright?

[She turns her head slowly, trying to smile at this boy who stopped to help her.]

I think... I may need to sit down.

[Roxas hooks his plastic bag over his arm, offering a hand to steady her back, the other for her hand, if she allows him to help.]

There's a chair nearby. [Just nearby, lined up in front of a small cafe.] I'll help you there.

[She nods, leaning on Roxas and taking his hand in hers. That gesture alone seemed to help with her nausea a bit, making her release a sigh. So the natives weren't kidding about this at all]

Thank you. I... [She heaves another breath.] I'm sorry... I'm not usually like this at all.

[Gingerly, he guides the girl towards the nearest table and chair. Along with helping Mami herself, Roxas feels a little pulse of rejuvenation as well. No, they weren't kidding at all.]

It's okay. I think I might've done the same thing you did, back when I first came. You new around here?

[She starts to feel a bit better after she has sat down. But that sensation after they've touched... it was strange. It was like she was seeking for that feeling again.

But it was not like she could just ask this boy to touch her again. They just met after all. Not to mention it was a bit presumptuous and weird to ask something like that in the first place.]

Yes... I've only been here for a few days. [She smooths her bangs back, trying to cool her face with the gesture.] I didn't think it would be this bad...

[It isn't as if the same wasn't true for him; as soon as the two of them broke their contact, that little reprieve had suddenly vanished, leaving a little itch in Roxas's chest. He's gotten a little more used to it by now, but not nearly enough to ignore it. He's done with trying to do that anyway.]

Here. [His eyes dart every which way towards the table. She should take it.]

[ it was a simple walk into town when Madoka spots a familiar sight. the smile instant as soon as she recognizes Mami and grateful she ran into the older girl.

she raises her hand in a wave, immediately turning and starting toward her. ]

Oh, Mami-san. I'm glad I found you, are you— [ nope. definitely not okay!! ] Ma—Mami-san!?

Madoka! ;u;

Ka... [She turns her head, squinting at where that familiar voice came from.] Kaname-san... [She tries her best her smile. She can't let Madoka see her like this.] You're here...

[revelation]

[ Madoka stops short of Mami, nervously shifting her weight from one foot to the other. ]

What happened, Mami-san? You're not hurt or sick are you... ?

No, I am not hurt. [she shakes her head.] But I think I may be sick. The natives have told me this would happen...

[revelation]

Oh, I see. [ she sounds relieved, and to be honest; she is. ] Why didn't you just tell me? We could have fixed this up quick, Mami-san.

[ and with that, Madoka offers out her hand. ] Don't worry, you'll feel better in no time.

... I didn't want to worry you. It seems so unnecessary.

[She glances down at the younger girl's hand before reaching out and taking it, giving it a squeeze.

... That seems to make her feel better.] But thank you, Kaname-san.

[revelation]

Don't ever worry about about something like that, Mami-san. You know I'll always help you.

[ to make up for what she couldn't do before. ] Hehe, you're welcome. Just be sure to tell me next time you start feeling bad, things like hand shakes and hugs really help a lot it seems.

[What a city. She could tell straight away there was really no need to be on guard or to conduct any sort of patrols, but... old habits die hard. Although in this case it's less of a patrol and more exploration, the young knight slowly walking through the city in a rather heavy suit of armor, a sword sheathed at her belt.

Sure there was no need for such equipment, it seemed, but she simply felt more comfortable with it than without it for the time being.

Whatever train of thought she was on at the moment however was promptly derailed when she saw the other girl leaning against a wall, clearly in no small amount of distress. That prompted Amelia to hurry over towards her, the voice coming from the armored figure that of a surprisingly young sounding girl rather than what one might normally expect from an appearance like that.]

Excuse me! You don't look well at all, are you alright ma'am? [Because even in this place, she was still a knight and still going to help people if she could.]

Oh! [She was a bit surprised that she was hearing a young girl's voice from the armor but Mami recovers from the shock, trying to stand up a little straighter before speaking.]

I... [She was tempted to lie, to brush off what she was feeling so that she wouldn't trouble anyone with this. But, this world is so different from the one she same from. Mami would definitely need too rely on someone until these symptoms have ceased plaguing her like this.] I'm afraid I am not in the best of shape...

[Silently, he wonders what caused the sudden change. Or at least the moment of her growing sick being so apparent. She really isn't looking that great right now, after all...

He really should help her get back, at least but what is using yer hugz handshakes are k.]

...Here. [He offers a hand to this girl... Funny, he notes... She looks about the same age he was when he first started out.] Let me help you back to the apartments.

[Glances at his hand and then at his face, giving him a tiny nod before she attempts to stand up a little straighter. She takes his hand, the contact suddenly giving her what felt like a jolt of energy passing through her. It lessened the nausea at least.]

Thank you. If... it won't be a bother. My balance isn't what it used to be, I'm afraid. I might slow you down.

[Riku smiled faintly at that, even if very unsure and awkward. He was very much out of practice, but that touch-- did he just brush against a touch-activated energy source?

[Even a simple touch to her elbow made quite a difference. The dizziness seems to be dissipating at the very least. Once she was standing straight, she looks over to whomever spoke to her, giving him an apologetic smile.]
