Welcome to the Rekindle Test Drive!Trying to see if a character will fit or work in the setting? Need some interaction samples? Well this meme is for you! Make a post, tag around, and most importantly, have fun! Here's the setting page for those who want to learn a little more about the city itself. Then don't forget to go reserve your character in a week when they open. Here's some prompts to help you get started, if you need it: | | Option 1 | [With summer coming, the water level in the river is starting to go down, exposing some of the riverbank. The Riverside Shack is open late, and its restaurant is pulling out all the stops and offering seafood specials (even though a river is a far cry from an ocean). The rental store, meanwhile, is finally bringing out more of its swimming supplies, inner tubes and pool noodles, and a calmer stretch of the river has been roped off with buoys for swimming. They even have lifeguards chairs set up. Clearly this sort of thing used to be an annual event.
It's not quite an ocean beach (quite different actually), but there's still plenty of chance to have fun in the water. Or teach someone to swim, perhaps.] | | Option 2 | [With a new district available to the public, there are new places to visit. However there are also questions with each new arrival. One may find themselves headed for Saeng Seong's town hall and government buildings in search of answers. Whether it be more reasons for why they're here, or simply looking for an attorney to sue the unnamed scientists that brought you here.
(However, they may be slightly prejudiced to this one. You've been warned.)] | | Option 3 | [There are certainly a lot of different options for shopping in the city. Perhaps one of the more interesting and eclectic of these options, however, is the outdoor Marketplace in District 3. All sorts of fresh food stalls line the large open area, with different aisles that can be walked down. There's food of all kinds here - fruits, diary, vegetables, and so on and so forth. Some of it will likely be familiar, but other kinds may be so foreign as to be unrecognizable - a orange, seemingly hollow kind of fruit with holes like swiss cheese, for example, or salad greens with leaves the size of heads of pins. You are on a different world, after all.
So wander the marketplace! Discover something new! And perhaps meet other curious people such as yourself...] | | Option 4 | [Whoops. Looks like you haven't taken the cautionary words of the other NPCs to heart, or maybe you just wanted to take your chances. Either way, the withdrawal symptoms have started and you need to find someone to hug quickly before you get even more sick.] | | Option 5 | [If there's something else you wanted to play with, that you didn't see here, then have fun with that. You've just arrived in a strange city, after all. There's got to be plenty to explore out and about, not to mention people to meet.] |

[From where she's standing, point of fact. M'gann reaches a hand out to unhook the grapple from the building it's latched onto, briefly getting a feel for the shape of it before giving a telekinetic tug and guiding it down. It falls into her hand, well in Robin's sights and giving M'gann something to use as a stress grip.]
"Do you have anything in your belt that can help with pain? Sorry, Hello Megan! Obvious question, huh?"
[He'd probably know already if he did or not...But her mouth is now running on autopilot as M'gann processes that her friend really is here. And still laying on the ground in pain.]

"And I don't want to see you handling it, or worse. Here..."
[It's a trick she's been working on lately, as M'gann puts her free hand out to get a mental grip under his back, to try and help him back up. She avoids any pressure on the shoulder, and instead M'gann keeps the hand stretched out for him to take, if he wants. All while keeping a careful eye to make sure she's not making things worse with levitating him to his feet.]
no subject
[It's not like him, but he relaxes a little when he feels the... force of whatever behind him.
He does the take the hand, because it's offered to help, not coddle.]
I think it's just my shoulder. I know how to take a fall. And hopefully it's just-- just a massive bruise the size of my face and nothing else.

[Evidently M'gann can, when she so chooses and when the situation is just right, display a little sass of her own. She doesn't let him down, instead keeping him levitating as she grabs those corners of cape fabric and wraps them around Robin, attempting to practically swaddle him in his cape. Save for that arm she keeps free to hold onto.]
"Right. Let's see about getting you to a hospital where we CAN make sure everything is okay?"
[She turns on her heel as she says that, guiding him along right next to her.]

It's just my shoulder, you know. Not my feet.
[It doesn't come out all that sarcastic. Still a bit awed.]

"No sense taking chances, when I can help." [For a certain of value of 'help.' At least there's a hospital coming into view.] "...You think they have chicken noodle soup in there? That's supposed to help, I think."
[At least, that's what television has always stated as facts.]

My mother only used it for being actually sick. Something about steam and sinuses. It might be an old wives' tale; I never really investigated it.
["Mother" seemed the most innocuous. Everyone had mothers. 'Cept Superboy.]
This is less help and more... puppetry.
no subject
[At least what she's seen on TV. M'gann is quite matter of fact as she points that out, not slowing her pace in the slightest as she speaks and making a bee line for that hospital. Just a quick walk across the street (checking both ways, of course) and they should be in the lobby.]
"Right...So no soup, then. Just painkillers, maybe an examination,"
[Possibly an arm sling, but she's not sure if she should broach that with the acrobat yet.]
"And then you'll be okay."
[She states the last as fact, and being non-arguable.]
no subject
[It was actually dulling the pain quite a bit, and hindering his ability to really analyze her reasoning toward the mothering.
He does manage:]
I know you know what sarcasm is, M'gann. If you're turning it against me, I'm... kinda proud of you.
no subject
[Okay, do NOT drop the other person in excitement. He dips a few inches before M'gann catches herself and regains her control.
That's also a hint that maybe she should let him walk on his own, and let go of his cape. M'gann gives her wrist a careful, measured rotation to tilt him forward, and let his feet get close to the ground. Still, she's ready to keep the weight off his injured arm and retains her focus on that.]
"I mean, um...Thanks. I guess?"
[Being esteemed in her friend's eyes never hurt, after all.]
no subject
Oh, okay, okay. Merciful Terra Firma. In spite of the TK, he's got that arm cradled in an effort not to jostle the shoulder.]
Sure. Points for ambition, too. Out-snarking me is a lot harder than Wally.
