Welcome to the Rekindle Test Drive! Trying to see if a character will fit or work in the setting? Need some interaction samples? Well this meme is for you! Make a post, tag around, and most importantly, have fun! Here's the setting page for those who want to learn a little more about the city itself. Then don't forget to go reserve your character in a week when they open. Here's some prompts to help you get started, if you need it: Option 1 [While the days grow longer and warmer and the older, oriental-style of the city would normally make one think that the interiors would not be much in the way of relief from the hot sun, it may surprise the guest to see that the apartments the natives have allocated for them are surprisingly comfortable. In fact, the only modern convenience they may be missing is a television set! At least, outside the media floor on the first floor of Building One - the first of four inter-connected buildings. In fact, each apartment building seems to have at least one different amenity on the first floor. In Building Two they seemed to even spare a library in another that seems to have the basics and some information packets that are otherwise found in the Welcome Center in District 2. There are even a few restaurants and common dining areas in the Building Three that are open until late at night, and meeting areas and a ballroom on the first floor in Building Four, perfect for setting up small parties or big events. With the locals gone save those who work in the restaurants and the one librarian, leaving you to your own devices, what will you do? What mysteries could be left to discover in this place?] Option 2 [With summer coming, the water level in the river is starting to go down, exposing some of the beach. The Riverside Shack is open late, and its restaurant is pulling out all the stops and offering seafood specials (even though a river is a far cry from an ocean). The rental store, meanwhile, is finally bringing out more of its swimming supplies, inner tubes and pool noodles, and a calmer stretch of the river has been roped off with buoys for swimming. They even have lifeguards chairs set up. Clearly this sort of thing used to be an annual event. It's not quite an ocean beach (quite different actually), but there's still plenty of chance to have fun in the water. Or teach someone to swim, perhaps.] Option 3 [If you're more inclined to explore or learn, the City's Learning Center might be more to your tastes. There certainly seems to be a lot going on here - there's laboratories and libraries and workshops, and plenty of communal areas where you can meet and talk with people. The natives seem pretty absorbed with their studies and work, though they're polite in brushing you off, at least. Perhaps you'll have more luck seeing what other Guests such as yourself have discovered?] Option 4 [Whoops. Looks like you haven't taken the cautionary words of the other NPCs to heart, or maybe you just wanted to take your chances. Either way, the withdrawal symptoms have started and you need to find someone to hug quickly before you get even more sick.] Option 5 [If there's something else you wanted to play with, that you didn't see here, then have fun with that. You've just arrived in a strange city, after all. There's got to be plenty to explore out and about, not to mention people to meet.]

[[OOC: Mani's an OC who's journal and stuff is still under construction (She's getting better icons soon I swear). She's from This guys world but an earlier time. She looks like a 12 year old but might come off younger because she's very shy, naive, under-socialized, and obedient. She wears a metal collar and and while it is possible to take off attempting to do so will shock bother her and whoever is tampering with it.

She also has the ability to turn invisible but doesn't use it very much of her own volition, usually just when ordered to by her handler.

Mani had only been here a few days, it was confusing and she wished Art was here with her. She'd never been anywhere without him or Dr Endymion before. She didn't know the correct way to act around people without them.

Which would be why she'd come to the riverside at night, when it was quiet. There weren't so many people around and she liked to watch the night sky, she almost never got to see it back home. Just fleeting glimpses when she was being transported to or from an exhibition. She grimaced for a moment rubbing her temple her invisibility had stopped working a few days ago. And the headaches were getting more frequent. She really should ask someone to touch her, she just hadn't worked up the nerve yet.

Leviathan | Mega Man Zero | #4

[This is paradise. This is the kind of utopia Master X had been striving for, with lots of happy (or mostly happy) humans, and plenty of energy to go around. She hasn't even spotted any Mavericks in her patrols!]

[Nonetheless, it's a little disconcerting to know that everyone has been plucked up and dropped here without their express permission. Even Leviathan, while happy to serve as a self-imposed guardian of the humans, isn't exactly thrilled at being treated this way. She's a general, after all, and deserving of more respect than this.]

[The downfall to all of that patrolling is a neglect of the primary requirement of all citizens. Leviathan's squeed happily at the humans, but she hasn't really touched any. This would be why her armor seems to be powering down, as is her control over water. Being very much in tune with her malfunctioning systems, Leviathan notices immediately.]

What's this?!

[Her demand isn't directed at anyone in particular. She thrusts out her hand, ordering her spear to manifest. It fails to extend, with nothing more than a decrescendo whine of machinery. This is a problem. Leviathan holds her chin in her hand, frowning.]

Richard | Tales of Graces | #4

[Richard has kept to himself on a physical level since arriving. You don't just go around touching people you don't know. He has been sociable enough, which has meant a few handshakes here or there, maybe a touch on the shoulder, but other kinds of physical contact? Not so much.

And so, some time into his arrival here, Richard is just minding his own business walking down a street when he suddenly starts to feel dizzy. He stops in his tracks and presses a hand to his head.

Okay, no, this isn't good. Richard finds the nearest park bench and sits down. This will probably pass in a few minutes, so he should just rest here and not trouble anyone with it. Good plan? Great plan!]

[Roxas hooks his plastic bag over his arm, offering a hand to steady her back, the other for her hand, if she allows him to help.]

There's a chair nearby. [Just nearby, lined up in front of a small cafe.] I'll help you there.

Fon Master Ion | Tales of the Abyss | Option 4

[It wasn't so much that Ion had been avoiding the cautionary words of the citizens, or trying to be rebellious (Ion was rarely ever rebellious with the actual intent of rebellion)...but rather, he had been trying to avoid being rude, pushy, or plain making anyone uncomfortable.

And if the Fon Master was being quite honest, he himself wasn't all too comfortable with the idea of physical contact with individuals he was unfamiliar with. Whatever the reason, it all led up to Ion stumbling over his own feet and barely catching himself from falling completely.

As he forces himself to rest heavily against the wall of the building closest to him from where he was walking through the city, he tries to look on the bright side. At least this wasn't exactly an unfamiliar sensation. Ion was quite accustomed to being dizzy. Still, it was troubling.

Now, he had even more limitations than before. Even further restrictions upon his independence.]

[He wasn't the only one rather bemused by the smiles of the natives. But then, she was used to those kinds of smiles as it is.

What she is only starting to grow accustomed to, however, are young boys with blond hair looking as though the life had been sucked from them (granted, that may be due to Drain back home)...]

[Hey look, Richard, it is a concerned stranger. Who happens to be carrying a sack full of groceries in his arms, but that's ok. Ember will put them on the bench next to Richard to put a hand on the guy's shoulder.]

[At the very least Nephrite does not recognize her out of her sailor Henshin. It was only Sailor Moon's identity he had discovered outright. So it was he stepped onto the river's beach with little regard for whom he shared the space with.

He's not in his Dark Kingdom uniform either. Masato Sanjoin was an easier alias to resume, once things were settled down. Thus, he settled for something casual but stylish in wear instead. His eyes stopped on her, and he smiled, though it's not exactly a kind smile. It is a smile, nonetheless.]

[Tohru stands just outside the doorway of her apartment, clutching her guides and pamphlets to her chest. Her eyes are the size of dinnerplates as she gapes openly at the place she's now to call home. Her guide, standing beside her, has been supremely kind to help her get situated and calm her down. While she's still nervous about being here, she has to admit, having such a lavish (in her opinion) place all to herself is an incredible surprise.]

But it's so nice...! It has to cost a fortune!

Oh! [She was a bit surprised that she was hearing a young girl's voice from the armor but Mami recovers from the shock, trying to stand up a little straighter before speaking.]

I'll... I'll be all right. I just need to head back to my apartment and rest. That's all...

[Someone's talking to him. Roxas swallows, pushing himself from the wall to lift his gaze to whomever this was. He's never heard their voice before. Through his dizziness, he can at least make out the height of this person (i.e. taller than he is) before she comes into focus seconds later.

No one he knows just yet. His eyes lower again, his hand raising to touch his pounding temple.]

I'm- I'm just not feeling well.

[Haha, nope! Luke's too busy following Tear around like a lovesick puppy.]

It sounds like the start of a joke.

[Being in a new place wasn't at scary as Jinsee thought it would be. It wasn't like she was alone as she had her little spider bodygaurds watching her from the shadows. One was hiding in the pocket on her shirt and she gave it a small pat to quite it down when it began to chirp and wiggle impatiently. The concept of having to be touchy feely with other people was something she still didn't quite grasp either. Deciding on taking a look around, her bare feet brushed against the grass, bright blue eyes glancing up at the sky. Something out of the corner of her eyes caught her attention and she peered over.]

...? [It was a guy, by the looks of it. He didn't seem to be in very good shape. Was he sick? Shuffling over, the young teenager crouched down besides him, the simple dress like gown she had on ruffling with her movements. Her hand reaches out to press onto his warm forehead, expression blank.

Was she even doing this right? ..Her mother had always done it to her to check her tempature whenever she caught a cold, so she figured he needed that as well. She makes a tiny questioning sound, before she pulls her hand away.]

[Mani is shyly walking around the strange city sticking close to the walls and generally avoiding open spaces. Being told she could go wherever she wants was a scary prospect instead of a comforting one, but curiosity was getting the better of her.

And then she saw a black cat. She tilted her head to the side, she's never seen anything quite like it before. Where she had come from it was all dog-like morphs like herself, and humans.

[Luckily for Ion, there is a redhead around who is extremely sensitive to the struggles of green-haired replicas. Even if the seventh replica isn't the usual recipient of Ember's concerned brofeels, that doesn't mean he's going to get ignored.

Have a redhead in your face, Ion, hands reaching out to support you without the slightest bit of hesitation. You're one of his little brothers, too.]

Hey, Seven? Ion? You okay?

[The nickname should be the first clue that not all is as it seems. The second is probably the long hair pooling over Ember's shoulders and somewhat ridiculous fluffy collar.]

[Richard glances up at Ember. He had no desire to concern others, so he instantly feels bad about it and feels the need to reassure the stranger.]

No, I'm quite all right. Just a little light-headed for a moment. It's probably the sun.

Option 4

Oh my! [Alice says from his side and is quick to crouch down and hold his elbow.]

Sir? Sir, are you alright? You look like you're about to fall over! [Perhaps not the kindest thing to say to someone she didn't even know but she was more focused on the fact that this man was in clear pain.] Would you like me to hold your hand?

[Hm... Well, she may not be a white mage, though she does indeed recognize the signs of definitely not being okay. And this? ...Well, it seems to be a bit more than that.]

"Just" not well?

[She may be linefacing, but the disbelief and likely slightly tempered tone is telling. She sighs, holding a hand out to check his temperature if he doesn't mind. Who knows, it may even help.]

You sure? Because I always thought people were kidding when they described someone as looking green.

[Spoilers, Richard, you look really bad. Even if your prettiness balances it out somewhat. Ember keeps his hand where it is.]

Come on, you should get off the street, at least.

Oh ah... my name is Alice, Alice Liddell. [She offered a curtsy in greeting although she knew she would have to hug or touch someone soon.] It's very nice to meet you, Mr. Yogi. Oh but! I know what a circus is! I've never been to one but I've seen pictures. And thank you for helping me.

[She nods, leaning on Roxas and taking his hand in hers. That gesture alone seemed to help with her nausea a bit, making her release a sigh. So the natives weren't kidding about this at all]
